Her pop radio dominance is truly unprecedented. She had her first top 10 pop radio hit in 2007 :deadbanana4: Only Madge is ahead of her

Lavender Haze is next in January/February :clap3:

where does she rank amongst all pop girls with #1s on pop radio. I'm assuming she's below Madonna, Mariah, Rihanna and Whitney and head of Katy, Gaga and Britney. Good for her snagging the #1 spot

Going off of Mediabase since the Billboard chart started in 1992, Madonna has 15, Mariah has 14, and Rihanna, Taylor, and Katy all have 11. Not sure where Whitney, Gaga, or Britney are.

As others have stated, this is insanely impressive because female artists usually get a short shelf-life at pop radio of >5 years, even as their careers continue to thrive and grow elsewhere. It seemed like her radio-darling status was done after Reputation... so this return to her 1989 peak dominance all these years later is pretty unprecedented.

Lavender Haze, Midnight Rain, and Maroon next

I know Look What Made You Do and Delicate hit #1 on Pop radio too, but obviously those weren’t as strong. This really feels like a return to form :clap3:

The best song to carry Midnights on radio :clap3:

Now here’s to hoping Lavender Haze and Midnight Rain go a long way on pop and overall radio too!

This kinda proves that pop radio never actually “gave up” on her, she was just releasing nothing but radio poison for like 4 years straight. MEth, YNTCD, Lover, The Man, Cardigan, Willow, Message in a bottle, etc we’re all abysmal pop singles :gaycat6:

now that she finally released pop excellence with a good melody, they love her again :bird:

Lover, Cardigan and Willow were never really made for pop radio so the fact that they went somewhere on pop radio from her name alone still speaks volumes. Me, YNTCD and MIAB, while all catchy pop songs, were just not cut out for pop to take them all the way, and they were all never really loved by the GP (and radio listeners) to catch attention on radio. They all still did well too I think, especially MIAB because it had no push at all, yet still made top 25 I think?

But now with Anti Hero it's well loved and really a catchy tune that pop will embrace, so Taylor's back in full force on radio. I'm sure Lavender Haze will do well too.

And it's showing a lot of staying power. Unlike LWYMMD or Ready For It, which dropped like rocks after peaking.

I agree but it was longer than that. Even LWYMMD and Ready For It crashed and burned after going #1. Anti-Hero looks like it will become a radio classic.

Is it actually doing that well on radio? What makes you think it'll have fantastic staying power? Aren't the callouts mid?

Ready For It peaked outside the top 10. But agreed that that AH is looking to be a longevity girl, she hasn't put out a single with this much hit-potential since Blank Space.

Definitely, I just didn’t include them cause LWYMMD did technically still make it to #1 unlike the others (even tho we all know that was a payola’d mess that collapsed immediately) and delicate smashed right after

Top 15.

In her entire career she has only had two songs miss the top 20 at pop, The Story of Us at number 21 and The Joker & The Queen at number 30.

...Ready For It? peaked at number 11. I think you're confusing it with Delicate, which did hit number one but started losing lots of spins immediately after getting there and spending only week at number one at pop, compared to HAC and AC where it was number one for months.

We don't have access to the callouts like we used to, and since it's already number one (& still gaining spins) one can expect it to spend at least 4 weeks at number one in total, partially due to the freeze giving it an extra week at the top.
