Is this good or bad? What does it mean exactly?

isn't this more beneficial as it aligns with what the streaming and sales chart track in terms of time?

Title is misleading, they’re doing the opposite.

I would think so. How would it affect #1 debuts? Cause songs will start with 0 airplay but the rolling effect won’t impact their first week charting

It won't, the overall airplay chart (the ones that counts to Hot 100's popularity measurement) tracking period is already the same as sales and streaming.

My understanding is that this upcoming Sunday (12/18) will be the final Sunday published update (for tracking period 12/11 to 12/17), and that the published updates will be on Fridays starting 12/23 (for tracking period 12/16 to 12/22).

But does that help or hurt 1st day numbers if there is no radio deal. I guess it does help the rolling effect

My guess is the labels/radio will adjust to shift in tracking week by moving add dates from Monday/Tuesday to Friday/Saturday. This would make radio deals pretty much unnecessary.
