MingYouToo Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 isn't this more beneficial as it aligns with what the streaming and sales chart track in terms of time?
luckythisway Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 (edited) Title is misleading, they’re doing the opposite. 25 minutes ago, MingYouToo said: isn't this more beneficial as it aligns with what the streaming and sales chart track in terms of time? I would think so. How would it affect #1 debuts? Cause songs will start with 0 airplay but the rolling effect won’t impact their first week charting Edited December 13, 2022 by luckythisway

My understanding is that this upcoming Sunday (12/18) will be the final Sunday published update (for tracking period 12/11 to 12/17), and that the published updates will be on Fridays starting 12/23 (for tracking period 12/16 to 12/22).
slw84 Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 But does that help or hurt 1st day numbers if there is no radio deal. I guess it does help the rolling effect

I guess it does help the rolling effect My guess is the labels/radio will adjust to shift in tracking week by moving add dates from Monday/Tuesday to Friday/Saturday. This would make radio deals pretty much unnecessary.
