There was a lot of (then) new studies on fear of cultural displacement from 2017-2019. So this isn't really surprising. 

 

I get the framing makes this new-ish, but I'm confused. Is it combining 5 studies in one or examining studies that have already been out a while?

Well yeah, even though it doesn't involve much, topics on racism involve some kind of critical thinking therefor ruling conservatives out. And we know how they are when they don't understand something (angry).
