Brycee Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 really wish they casted someone different for aaron. he just doesn't have the same appeal as jonathan bennett 1
ALA Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 The trailers for this are so, so bad I bet the film is actually decent but man
Lovett Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 The marketing for this is horrible. I love the musical, so I'm excited. But honestly, I hate when the marketing teams actively try to hide the fact that a film is a musical. Like, what's the point? Also, who thought casting that man as Aaron Samuels was a good idea?

ShyGuy Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 (edited) They really should’ve tried to make at least one song viral, choose the best one and put it out there on tiktok kinda like what happened with Peaches for the Mario movie, everyone and their mom was singing that song even before watching the damn movie! Why are they keeping the songs under lock? It’s not like people are going to rave about them after the premiere and word of mouth will do its thing, I think it’s going to be the opposite actually, people that do not know this is a musical are going to be pissed. JonnyCat Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 The worst aspect of this so far seems to be Cady and the "made for no older than a 15/16-year-old" feel the movie has. The overall casting is questionable and the "jokes" (especially from Cady) are giving unfunny and direct-to-video/made-for-TV.
okgo Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 Somehow l still don't think this will be bad, or as bad, as people expect and I'm curious to see it even if I never particularly cared for the musical and certainly don't want remakes of classics I grew up with such as this (but Tina can usually be trusted to deliver something entertaining and I believe most of the cast is talented) however I can't say any of the stuff I've seen gets me excited, it feels obnoxiously "made for gen z on netflix" and as someone said on Twitter what made the original movie so compelling to me was the fact it was about "the corruption of Cady", Lindsay truly sold the project (acting and narrative wise) in a way a lot of people still don't realize and Tina seemingly turning the musical into "the Regina George show" just because she's the most popular character (obviously due to its extravagant nature and one liners) defeats the whole purpose of the actual story, especially if apparently this isn't even a full on adaptation of the musical but a "hybrid" between both or whatever
