Sanguine Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 (edited) Get Outta My Way literally the gayest song ever and it’s perfect. Run Away With Me too another all time fave Misery Business, Party in the USA and some other nice entries as well Re: intro, hope things get better soon! glad to see music has been a comfort for you Edited December 12, 2022 by Sanguine

BlackoutZone Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Caught me off guard with the worst songs Uh Oh is probably the only Tate song I ever enjoyed a bit, Cold Heart SMASH!
Remmy Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Emergency, Breathe Me, Blurry Lose You to Love Me, Rush, LWYMDD exile is a great & lovely choice for #1 Was just listening to that a good amount last week along with some other chill/slow Taylor songs. Party In the USA, Lucky, Home, Run Away with Me & Misery Business yesss these classics Solid list overall
Polgg48 Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 20. A Day To Remember - Paranoia 17. Savage Garden - Crash And Burn 14. Sum 41 - Pieces 12. Sia - Breathe Me 11. Daughtry - Home 9. Aly & AJ - Rush 8. Paramore - Misery Business 6. Puddle of Mudd - Blurry 4. Linkin Park - One Step Closer 3. Three Days Grace - Pain i remember these !
PopKills Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 First off I’m sorry you had such a rough year, especially the exile story sounds so rough and like you got treated unfairly for no reason but it WILL get better just know that Anyway, ignoring that Cold Heart is actually decent for what it is these are cute lists. I sooo agree with what you said about One Republic and Imagine Dragons and Tate McRae’s confusing existence. Breathe Me, Get Outta My Way, 7 Rings and Look What You Made Me Do are songs I also like from your second list.
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 16, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted December 16, 2022 LYTLM is iconic, iconically tragic. AJay's video truly snapped! Lucky is Britney's best song! Breathe Me is such a masterpiece Have you seen Six Feet Under? That finale always kills me. GOMW Good #1 as well!
MusicLoverDude Posted December 17, 2022 Author Posted December 17, 2022 Surviving 2022 Top 100 Songs: 100 - 91 So yeah I wasn't expecting ATRL to do maintenance like that right at the beginning of Best Of season. But whatever. Show will go on. Finally gonna start getting to the Top 100. 100. The Weeknd & Ariana Grande - Save Your Tears The original version was one of the songs I heard on loop each day at work for five months and it was one of the few songs I wasn't sick of. I was always indifferent towards this song though even when it was smashing last year. But if 2021 was going to have any leftovers continue to be hits this year, may as well be this over Heat Waves or Stay (if only that was true in the real world). I honestly thought Dawn FM was trash so this is the only song by him to make the list as lead. Pretty sure this is also Ariana's only entry. 99. Charlie Puth - That's Hilarious Charlie's year was pretty weird if you ask me. It seemed like he was trying to make a comeback and ended up landing somewhere between that and pure flop (because he at least got two charting hits). This was the song that apparently meant a lot to him. And I mean, I get it. This ***** ruined your life for a whole year and you're still upset from it. The song is fine for what it is. It just gets forgotten pretty easily which is why I ended up ranking it the lowest out of the Charlie tracks that will be on this list. 98. Demi Lovato - SKIN OF MY TEETH I hate putting Demi this low but the single choices for HOLY **** could've been way better. This song is fine and trust me, knowing that Demi finally went back to her roots was AMAZING for all of us but this song definitely is among the weaker tracks on HOLY ****. 97. Doja Cat f. The Weeknd - You Right Planet Her did pretty well the last two years and that album grew on me more this year than it did last year so for the singles from it to linger around as long as they did was honestly fine. This probably would have ranked higher on a 2021 best of had I actually sat down to do one last year but it's ok. This song is fine. I think it's a little overrated by the fans but it's chill and good to listen to at night. 96. Dua Lipa - Levitating Given how massive this song became, it had its time to shine already so I'm ok with ranking it here - as again, this song would have absolutely been on a higher spot for a 2021 year end list that I never got around to doing. This song would lift me up at work when I needed it to and the song is still one of Dua's strongest songs. 95. Taylor Swift - Glitch Midnights really lifted my spirits up this fall so expect every song from it to be on this list (and more from Taylor). This is only the beginning. This song is definitely the weakest of the bunch but it's still good for a nighttime listen. 94. Justin Bieber - Ghost On occasion this dirtbag will make a good song. This is one of those occasions. Hits me in the chill feels in the same way that Company did 6 years ago. Nothing more, nothing less. 93. KSI & Tom Grennan - Not Over Yet Tom is surprisingly one of the better UK singers and he made some good songs this year. This collab with KSI being one of them. So this won't be his last appearance. 92. Ava Max - Million Dollar Baby This song is a bop, sure. But if Ava wants to actually have success again she needs to stop sampling ****. Like, she's basically gonna bankrupt Atlantic with all the money they spend on samples. It's one of the better sampling occurrences but still 91. Doja Cat f. SZA - Kiss Me More This was massive last year and still big this year. It's a bop that I don't like as much as others on this site but again, would have been higher on a 2021 year end list so I'm ok with placing it here.
potent Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 I like some of them but they're mostly old I guess because you didn't do the 2021 list SOMT was a bop and Tom Grennan has some cute songs although I don't know that one.
rvx Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Kiss Me More + Save Your Tears Ghost + Million Dollar Baby
Into The Void Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 The first batch a lot of great 2021 leftovers
TheWayWeWere Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 yeah, I loved SOMT, but it kinda one of the weakest from album in the end You Right, Kiss Me More and Save Your Tears slaying another year
gagacasanova Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 On 12/11/2022 at 6:23 PM, MusicLoverDude said: 16. Selena Gomez - Lose You To Love Me A constant reminder to me that you can lose yourself while being blinded by feelings towards other, but you can still come back strong once you find yourself 15. Miley Cyrus - Party In the USA This feel good song hits even harder now that I'm trying to find my place in a new city, even 3 years later. 13. Britney Spears - Lucky When you're the happy energetic dude that is always in the good mood, it makes it hard to believe you could be anything else mentally. And that's why I relate to this song to this day. I'm glad Britney is finally free, over one year now. 10. Carly Rae Jepsen - Run Away With Me Euphoric and now nostalgic at the same time as this song has become a staple defining song of my 20s. 5. Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do I can't tell you how many times I wanted to get into my revenge Regina George zone over people that ****** me over this year while listening to this. And the video remains iconic to this day. 2. Ariana Grande - 7 Rings I'm a Capricorn, but I'm also a confident person when I'm in a good stable normal mood. This song became an anthem for me everyday before I clocked in to work. I used the phrase "Ready to slay" starting with this song. This song just breathes power, fire, confidence, boss ****, pimp ****, king ****, everything. I needed that reminder this year that I'm a force to be reckoned with. I will continue using this song to pump me up as the years go by. 1. Taylor Swift & Bon Iver - exile This was my favorite song of 2020 two years ago, and this year it sadly felt like art became reality for me. Just imagine trying to be friends with someone that you end up developing feelings for and then when they find out, they turn on you and then get you villainized, humiliated and embarrassed just for having feelings for you. I tried so hard to save something that was doomed and he treated me like complete garbage and ended up blocking me on everything. Even worse was that we worked together and he villainized me so badly that I had to transfer stores. One of my other friends also stabbed me in the back by telling him I liked him and then helped him get me transferred. So the emotional heartbreak and pain of this song felt real and it was the only song that really helped me cope with that situation. It's presence was felt all throughout 2022. 13 hours ago, MusicLoverDude said: 100. ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 18, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted December 18, 2022 Levitating and Kiss Me More Glitch is one of the worst songs on Midnights
Remmy Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 Kiss Me More is fine, not a Doja fan in general honestly. SYT original >> remix but the one with Ari is still good. Glitch is one of the worst songs on Midnights [2] ... is what I thought until it grew on me big time!! SKIN OF MY TEETH yesss Levitating is a massive bop and smash of course!
Alldeezy Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 Save your tears, skin in my teeth, you right, kiss me more
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 yeah Skin Of My Teeth feels very safe for me as a lead because it kinda reminds me of Hole's Celebrity Skin. Imagine if they released Substance as the lead Levitating & Million Dollar Baby
MusicLoverDude Posted December 22, 2022 Author Posted December 22, 2022 Surviving 2022 Top 100 Songs: 90 - 81 90. Lil Nas X f. Jack Harlow - Industry Baby Another 2021 leftover that still did well in 2022. Would have been higher on a 2021 year end. That song is just badass and so is the video. 89. Dove Cameron - Bad Idea Dove Cameron has this thing of sharing song titles with songs by bigger artists. With Boyfriend you had JB, Selena, Ariana, Ashlee and Mabel (well Dove is bigger than her let's be real). With Breakfast it was Fleur East (although again, Dove is technically bigger). With Bad Idea she again shared a name title with Ariana. So I mean, it's hard not to compare the two. But even on her own merit, this is the weakest of the three main songs she put out this year. A bop, yes. But the weakest one. 88. Charlie Puth f. Jung Kook - Left And Right This song deserved to be on the Billboard Year-End over some songs that didn't do as well on the chart. If a song peaks in the Top 25 and doesn't make it because some garbage country gets 30+ weeks despite only peaking at #63, it's BS. This song was decent. Good to listen to on the radio. Cute verses. Cute video. 87. Olivia Rodrigo - good 4 u We're almost done with 2021 leftovers (for now) but of the three pop rock songs from 2021 to still chart on the 2022 chart, this one will be the weakest. I like my guitars to be energetic and angry and while this song is definitely that, interpolating Misery Business is both a blessing and a curse. In 2021 it was fine because for the most part the pop rock and pop punk was confined to MGK, Maggie Lindemann and Beabadoobee. But then they all came back along with Avril and Billie so this song just starts to lose its charm with age. Still good though. 86. Rihanna - Lift Me Up It's crazy how an entire presidency, a Category 5 hurricane landfall in the US, Mariah's record being broken, a pandemic, a violent long track tornado in winter, 5 Taylor albums plus two re-releases, the rise of Billie Eilish, Adele's comeback, etc happened while Rihanna was out there making millions off clothes and makeup. This song is beautiful though and is still growing on me. 85. Ava Max - Maybe You're The Problem Essentially a more anthemic version of As It Was but with actual personality too. 84. Jax - Victoria's Secret Catchy song, and this song did very well for an American Idol alumni. Just pails in comparison to other pop rock this year. 83. Camila Cabello f. Ed Sheeran - Bam Bam This song is the type of pop song that radios and grocery stores will eat up, just wish it was a little more anthemic and not so...chilled. It's catchy at times though. 82. Taylor Swift - The Great War the 2nd of 22 Taylor entries is now here. Personally my second least favorite of the 3AM tracks. It's fine for what it is. I just don't really listen to it often. 81. Carly Rae Jepsen f. Rufus Wainwright - The Loneliest Time I feel like the single choices for The Loneliest Time are just not as strong as the singles from Dedicated or Emotion. Like, I know this blew up on Tik Tok (and I prefer this over Made You Look) but it's not really clicking with people outside of it. That bridge is a lot of fun but it doesn't match the mood to the rest of the song. I can listen to this at night but that's about it.
JGibson Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 good 4 u + Lift Me Up + Victoria's Secret + The Great War
