gagacasanova Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 POV: A bakery manager for a grocery store that has a theft issue: Prices are getting higher, chances of lower prices are at a laughable rate. And they look at the people merchandising this stuff in these stores acting like they did it. I've had people steal my product because of these prices. Sadly our company policy doesn't allow us employees to stop the theft, we just have to let them go. Theft will always be a thing, no matter the grocery chain. It is not gonna stop because 1 grocery chain is threatening to shut down because of it. You do you, Walmart. I'd like to stop it as much as the next person, but again, my company does not allow me to stop them.

I moved to TX and got stuck with Kroger, it's disgusting. What I would give to have Publix here There's alternatives to Kroger sis. Tom thumb/Randalls produce is also really nice. There's also HEB almost everywhere in TX. They are pricier for certain items, but the necessities are all of good quality, clean, and perhaps a dollar or so over Walmart. I don't think I've been to a Kroger in almost 3 years- last time I went was the day before COVID lockdown in 2020.
Distantconstellation Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Im gonna continue stealing from the self check out area. Eat ****. Large corporations have stolen from their employees for years. Any gay here trying to defend walmart will get destroyed in the antiwork subreddit.

Publix is the best grocery store in existence

But in DFW area there's only Tom Thumb, HEB (in Plano and Frisco), Target, Kroger and Walmart. Walmart is definitely the cheapest.

Last time I went shopping there I spent about $25 more than I do at Walmart for my usuals, and Walmart is like $10-$15 more than Aldi at this point. Just stuff like chicken breasts are $2.98 per pound at my local Walmart and $2.40 per pound at Aldi.

Are you trying to say some one who can't afford a Lexus, but can afford a Toyota should just settle for public transportation to get around? What a weird conclusion.
GardenPanty Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 putting a 30 cent banana sticker on a TV before going to self checkout as we speak <3
Saint luv Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Walmart can go to hell! Spoiler I was fired from there for stealing tho

You brought up free options when someone brought up a motivation for why people steal Why are you caping so hard for the CEO of Walmart by agreeing with his justification for closing stores?

There is nothing wrong with stealing from big corporations like that especially if you're struggling to get by and a banana costs like $1 now lmao. This CEO and the rest of them are charging more, hoarding the wealth, and not increasing wages. It's only fair. This ******* can cry more. Stealing is wrong, PERIOD.
katara Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Is it really that easy to steal in US stores? Here in Germany they have these long detectors by the door so it's near impossible to steal anything without the detectors going off.

Yes I brought it up. Do you need more help understanding it. Would you like another analogy? Gurl. This is getting repetitive. Just read all the comments. Bye.

I heard you can get past those by wrapping the items in aluminum foil. It's only what I've heard though. Never stolen anything myself other than some grapes when I was a kid.
