sugarysunflower Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Walmart CEO Doug McMillon issued a stark warning Tuesday: If theft does not slow down, the retailer will close stores across the country. "Theft is an issue," he told CNBC. "It is higher than what it has historically been." He added: "If that's not corrected over time, prices will be higher, and/or stores will close." The world's largest retailer likely loses about 1% of its US revenue — or roughly $3 billion every year — to stealing by customers and employees, Reuters reported in 2015. McMillon said the key to reducing theft is Walmart working with local law enforcement agencies and ensuring that those agencies are fully staffed. "Along with other retailers, we've seen a significant increase in theft and organized retail crime across our business," Target CEO Brian Cornell said during the earnings call. these delusional CEOs source: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/walmart-ceo-stores-will-close-if-theft-at-retailer-doesnt-slow-down/ar-AA14YDxu
ThisNihilist Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Good. Local grocery stores would have a chance
scenekiller Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 (edited) Quote The estimated Net Worth of C Douglas McMillon is at least $273 Million dollars as of 23 November 2022. Maybe people wouldn't feel they had to steal if people like you didn't hoard all the wealth Edited December 7, 2022 by scenekiller
JustLikeHoney Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Honest people hard working people need Walmart stores in their areas whether you guys want to believe it or not. The price difference in groceries alone would mean people would lose at least $200 a month if they purchased in a regular chain grocery store, like in my area Publix.

Navy4Life Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Isn’t Walmart hell on earth where all the hillbillies and Karens go to shop and make scenes? Hardly a loss.

Not true at all, it's not that much more expensive. Especially if you're just buying the basics. Publix carries more expensive name brands, which is a choice not a necessity. Society doesn't have an obligation to let a monopoly thrive for any reason. If Walmart chooses to close b/c costs are too high, that's just the marketplace operating as intended.

Got it. Besides it's not like Publix pays their employees more you're just trading a multi billion dollar company for another multi billion dollar company. What a weird reply. Girl, go right now and compare a dozen of Publix eggs to a dozen of Walmart eggs and tell me I'm wrong. Do people here do any comparative shopping at all? I guess y'all are just rich college kids. But I struggled to make ends meat in college.

This is false moral grandstanding. Mr. McMillon could easily take a paycut to help support these stores, because I guarantee you his salary being that high is not necessary. But instead, he'd rather choose to punish customers for the theft of others (which, by the way, theft itself is the result OF the poverty class not being able to afford what they need).

Your right he could do what Publix does and raise prices on basic necessities.

Try to get in the habit of not twisting people's words around to make it sound worse. That's very weird and very childish behavior. I didn't say those words at all you said them. Those are your thoughts sis. The bogos are great for when you are broke.

Kamil24 Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 if they raise prices, theft will just increase
