I'm halfway through the 2nd episode, and why are they acting like that Bruno guy is supposed to be some average looking outcast compared to Alex just because he doesn't look like an OF model? In which world? That man would still be a catch anywhere, let's be serious here :clown:

for Spanish standards he is average. Men in Spain are just built differently lol

I could not STAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNDDDDDD Alex, Bruno deserved better even if he was a pompous ass in the beginning.

Albert was my baby but he needed a slap too, Nuria sucks, sorry. Najat is the unsung hero over there.

Really happy that Vero and Patri didn't end up together still, best development of the show. Patri grew a backbone and stood in her truth, love her parents too and it's always irksome watching someone try to distance a minority from their social anchor(their parents,) it's just a different dynamic for immigrants and family.

Javier reminds me of my uncle, sksksk. Loved him.

He's just as attractive as Alex imo, just without the body. If he's average, then they're both average :rip:

Loved it, one of my favourite TV shows in a long time, hoping for Season 2 :duca:

Spoiler

I'm happy that Álex and Bruno ended up together, the dream sequences between Álex and Bruno kind of pissed me off as I was hoping for them to not push each other away, I loved the use of Catalan in this too, I'm annoyed that Vero and Patri didn't stay together but at the end of the day Vero wasn't happy with Patri, shocked at Ramiro and Juan's storyline, but I'm happy with the way it ended with him and Rosa, I didn't like Ibri and Álex together as I thought Ibri was too forward in wanting Álex to go to Senegal with him, plus Rosa was too nosy with their relationship when Álex didn't even want to be with Ibri, it just really irked me.

I just finished it. Need a season 2. Loved it.

I skip-watched this (only for the mains' plot lmao) and it was cheesy but very cute. For sure it has lots of tropes, but the angst and chemistry gave it that touch.

My only comments:

- Bruno was NOT average like lmao. He's very attractive.

- They should've made Alex younger, it's weird that Carlos Cuevas is playing a character 6 years older than him :skull:

- Sorry but I needed more kiss/sex scenes between Bruno and Alex, I mean... they are the leads. :skull: I don't care for the other dudes.

- The whole "smiley" thing was the only cringe thing from their plot... I guess in the author's head it sounded better but it was kinda stupid.

It was a cute watch, but my main gripe with the storyline was that they wasted a whole show on the premise of a "missed connection" when they could have spent time seeing what their relationship could be like.

I need a season 2.

Spoiler

I can't believe they weren't together most of the season. :psyduck: This is the first time I fell instantly in love with the 2 leads. :jonny5:I need more scenes of them together, please.

Finished it and absolutely loved it. Cried like a baby at the end

#3 on Netflix Spain for 7 straight days in a row. :duca:  Love that this has been a legit streaming hit there. Hoping for a season 2 to be greenlit though this would have also made sense as a limited series.

This was so good. Loved it! :jonnycat:Would love a season 2 although the ending kinda works too. Obv there were a few things that could have been better but we really need more shows like this.

Spoiler

I really didn't like how they dedicated a lot of time to the hetero couple sub-plot though. I know they're Bruno's friends and all that but idgaf about yall go away :coffee2:

Bruno supposedly being an "average" or "ugly" guy in this show sent me ??? I know the standards for the gay community are high and he's obviously insecure but cmon now..

I wish we got more of Alex and Bruno together though. I was expecting them to reunite around EP6-7 not at the very last minute of the season ff.

Vero/Patri storyline was great!! Loved all the development.

PS: ignore the double quote ugh.

I liked all the characters. Its not often even parent characters get an arc like Alex’s mum did. I think everyone was flawed but still likeable. They were no outright villains. I thought Ibra would just be a f**k boy but he showed dimension in the latter half.

My fav character was Ramon though. I don’t know similar the actor is to his character’s facial expressions but he really nailed it. Even though i knew he was going to get hurt, i was rooting for him the whole way. I also loved his rebuttal to Bruno’s “lets be friends” rhetoric. We’ve all heard that before, right?

That being said, he never should’ve kissed Bruno at a work event, no less. Thats ground for a SA case.

My suspension of disbelief was mostly enforced in the lesbian storyline though.

Could Vero and Patri really afford an architect-renovated property on a flower shop and rundown bar salary though? We never even see Patri working. If anything, shouldnt it be Vero available during the since bar operates evening hours? The open relationship could’ve been introduced better too. The writers clearly spent more time crafting the main plot.

Are you gonna watch Merli too? It was recommended for me after i finished this. The actor that played Alex is the lead of that series.

I loved this :chick1: I'm kind of surprised by the critiques of pacing in here; y'all know this was meant to be a rom-com arc through and through, right? The last scene just delivered on that promise.

Bruno :WAP: I gotta find out if he's played other gay roles.

I want to watch this, but Netflix (at least in the US) only has the spin-off series and not the original. I want to watch the OG 3 seasons before watching Sapere Aude.

Oh i was referring to Sapere Aude. I didnt realise there was another attached series prior. I saw something on reddit about drama between one of the actors and the creator.

It looks like it’s going to be steamier than Smiley so def looking fwd to that :)
