CottageHore Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Y’all should know by now you can’t decide you hate a Lana album after first listen. Her music is art, therefore it’s not immediately easily consumed, *****. You don’t realize the genius of her albums until fifth or sixth listen, sometimes the twentieth or hundredth listen. It demands your time and attention, I fear!

She is a genius after all but idk I always go into her albums expecting some sort of relatability for my own life but her autobiographical and niche songwriting is jarring for me at times but she’s still one of my faves! I just loathe the interludes, and that’s not changing. Sorry for the vibe kill! Margaret SOTY iktr

Her ballads are great but as a body work it’s just exhausting to get through. There’s a reason why NFR and Ultraviolence are considered her best works. UV is arguably just as slow/ballad heavy as any of her modern stuff tho? They're just guitar based and not piano based like her post NFR output
VeniceBeach Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 It took me 1 year to finally understand Honeymoon and now it's my 2nd favorite album by her, don't give up
est. in 90s Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Why did Lana have to snap so hard on Paris, Texas like that Like who told her to chew up the melodies like that? WHEW? These are the questions that need answers
On The Bound Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 this was v instant for me, PHENOMENAL album, honestly might be my fav

Also, her music has this special connection to memory and nostalgia. Once you have attached memories to her albums, listening to them becomes an even better experience. Like I listen to UV and immediately I’m hit with a waft of freshly mowed green grass, hydrangeas, lilacs, and petrichor like Summer 2014. Who else has that?? Edited March 23, 2023 by CottageHore

est. in 90s Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 I know they think it took thousands of people To put me together again like an experiment Some big men behind the scenes Sewing Frankenstein black dreams into my songs But they're wrong

Ice Cream Skies Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Lana albums always take a minute to fully sink in, but once they do... It becomes a part of your life. Songs you never seem to grow tired of, and might even become newly obsessed with years later.
West Coast Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 yeah never judge any Lana album from the first time cause the first time I tried to get into her I've hated BTD then after a few listens I've became a Stan (and hated everything she released) then they all grew on me (except cocc and bb) she's always ahead of the curve!
JoeAg Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 so excited, 6 hours and 21 min for me! gonna have such a beautiful nightwalk tonight!
Ice Cream Skies Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 I have this... unsettling feeling that Pitchfork might lowball her just for a little controversy. Surprise 6.8 incoming?
suburbannature Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 This could have used a tiny bit of editing (namely lose Fishtail and one of the interludes), but this is such a stunning album with some of her darkest and most revealing lyrics. I think it will be up there with UV/NFR/BTD/AKA for me as an essential Lana work.
