Lana Del Rey - 'Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd'

Speculative on my part but Lana is so much more entrenched in Jack's inner circle than Lorde at this point. I feel like Lorde and Jack quietly distanced themselves a bit after the Solar Power mess, where she used to always be with him even in between albums. I want to know more about the behind the scenes tea of what happened with Lana and Lorde nn.

I just want to know if there will be some electric guitar and grittiness :chick1: I like when she’s pretty and spotless but I do miss when she rolls up her sleeves a bit and gets dirty sonically!

I wish the White vinyl had that ocean picture in the booklet. Not sure why she just left a blank page

not the one i want - via target, being sold out already

There’s plenty of explicit tracks on there!

I didn't realize her *** is actually out in the vinyl label drawing on the store exclusive white vinyl. :jonny5:

Parental advisory... Yes, queen.

The Target exclusive should've been the standard album artwork.

I don't get people who are expecting Lana to change style lolll

I love the song, much better than her leads from COCC and BB. I am not too fond of the lyrics as they feel very personal to her, but maybe I'll get some deeper meaning after some more listens

Nope, in fact A&W makes 0 sense as a title, it would be AW&J :gaycat4:

No idea, but I'm still waiting for you guys to get the Rockefeller title, because you can, but I won't tell you how :gaycat4:

AW - Amy Winehouse

J - Janis? Jim?

Amy, Whitney, and Jim?

Amy Winehouse & Janis Joplin? :jonnycat:

It sounded meh on the first listen but after 5, WOOOOOO…… she’s bringing her A Game with the song writing. I thought it sonically sounded like her older stuff but this is the evolution. Lana will never going to give us what we want from her but I have faith in her, in her artistry and in her talents. :heart2:
The song is sooooooo beautiful - adding it to my insomnia playlist!

On repeat! :jonny:

DON’T FORGET ME

Finally on break and got to listen!!! :WAP:

The lyrics, as always, are beautiful and tbh the song itself didn’t do much for me but I’m not worried in the slightest because if there’s one thing Lana does, it’s sneak up on me by the fifth listen and slay me! I didn’t love MAC or COTCC at first either and now they’re two of my favorites.

The chorus melody kind of reminds me of If You Lie Down With Me and also a little of If I Die Young.

Oh yeah I forgot about that lol

Hmm interesting. I've always considered that more of an EP/Side B/Mini Album/Re-Release, rather than a full on studio album.

Oh ok thanks. It's nice to have confirmation on what number album we're on.

Paradise is an album hence it has its own vinyl

Many versions of the album sold out already... She's coming for that 100k debut in the US for sure :1stplace:

Also, some of y’all hear Lana over a piano and instantly have meltdowns.

From the aesthetic, attention to detail, and the features of this album alone, it’s obvious this is going to be a much more grandiose and layered body of work than her last two efforts.

I’ll check back on y’all in 3 months when the album is getting critically acclaimed and you’re all switching to “the title track is her best lead EVER!!!!!” :rip:

if it was anyone else it would be try hard :coffee:

Lana has had long song titles since LFL. It's just part of her at this point

except Lana has proven time and time again that she gives less than zero fvcks and is actually the polar opposite of tryhard :rip: homegirl does only what she wants and then retreats back to her cave, laughing at us the whole way there while she collects her acclaim

Do you know what the word pretentious means

Lana has showcased a million times that she has the talent and the range to back up her art

Well yes:rip: She is one of the VERY few people who can sell a title this long and pretentious

She IS pretentious, but she has the talent to sell it :heart2:

LMAO

Would anybody else have the same talent as her? :bibliahh:

Plenty of people…:rip:

"Anybody else" would be a pretentious try hard

But when you're "one of America’s greatest living songwriters", you can pull it off :heart2:

Damn…

The way none of this is true and all of you are serving bias and brain rot

@BlackoutZone did you already pick out early favorites and is the title track one of them?
