There's quite a number of ATRLers who also say they're "tired of woke" and wokeness in general. I wonder if it's the same for them... :oh:

LOL the way these people detest  American freedom with every cell in their body. They HATE America.

And tbh their words and actions have reinvigorated my passion to stand against all religions, and all Gods. Down with the Christian Fascists.  Down with the church. We don't need them.

Progressives invented the term, not the right. Where do you think the right got it from?

It's AAVE and ya'll are saying the Right came up with it? Make it make sense.

Nobody said the right came up with it, but they stole it and twisted the meaning. Now anything that goes against the direct interest of straight white evangelicals is considered "woke."

The coining of this term has singlehandedly set us back a decade or two…

These America hating losers need to be purged by some drag queens.

This is stupid

Why so purposefully dense? :doc:

Yes, saying "stay woke!" as a way to endorse discussions related to systemetic oppression first started among black american circles, but right-wingers began to use the term as a derogatory word to belittle, mock and silence people uplifting these exact discussions and pretty much any progressive stance.

People clearly use it as a catch-all dog whistle against marginalized social groups now. Events mentioned by OP just confirmed it.

Inventing is not the same as defining; we know what progressives have meant for a decade now of what the term "woke" means. In their attacks on "wokeness", the right have argued that they meant something else.

This moment, as now part of legal record, shows that the right mean otherwise when saying "woke".

They meant they are indeed trying to attack what progressives believe - that systemic racism is real.

This binary system of “right” and “left” is so disgusting. Step out of the internet and talk to actual human beings.

He's..... an elected politician part of a right-wing party.

What do you suggest we call him, if not identified by his membership of a right-wing political party.

Quickly.

By his name? Was that quick enough for you?

But it's not "[name] expresses personal opinion". It's a member of a political party, acting on behalf of that political party as an organization and law-making body, to defend and implement legislation that they believe is in line with the mainline views of their party, that identifies with the label of "the right".

Quickly, what right-wing political organizations in America acknowledge the fact that there is systemic racism?

DeSantis' opinions and statements are heralded by the GOP, thus it makes complete sense to generalize.  If his remarks were fringe or controversial within his party, then you would have somewhat of a point.

Where in the link in your  OP does your title appear? That’s what I’m asking.

Great. Where are the statements from the title of this thread located? That’s all I’d like to know.

In the article. Literally. Sis, you're usually an insidious right-winger who tries to hide their prejudices but you're coming undone at the seams with this poor defense of DeSantis. :skull: You also still haven't answered why what right-wing orgs believe in systemic racism.

Jean-Jacques Cabou, Warren’s attorney, noted DeSantis referred to Warren in his announcement of the suspension as a “woke ideologue”

DeSantis suspended a county attorney in Florida, and in his speech about why he suspended him, cited the reason for the suspension was the attorney's "woke ideology".

When asked by the court to define what DeSantis meant by woke, DeSantis' team offered the following:

Quote

"Slang term for activism … progressive activism” and a general belief in systemic injustices in the country.

- Taryn Fenske, DeSantis’ Communications Director

Quote

“It would be the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them.”

- Ryan Newman, DeSantis’ General Counsel

So why are you confused about people recognizing it is an example of right-wingerism for a right-wing governor, representing a right-wing state, and his right-wing aides defending his right-wing policies, positions and executive decisions within his powers as governors to act against, and I quote, "woke ideology", which, again I quote, to them "is the belief there is systemic injustice in America", @family.guy123

Show me the quotes from the article that mention “homophobic”, “racism” and “officially”. I haven’t answered that question because it’s irrelevant  to what I’m taking about. I’m not defending desantis, I don’t even know who that is. All I’m asking is to be transparent and authentic in your thread making. If I’ve missed something in the article, please point it out to me and I’ll gladly recognize my mistake. But from what I’ve seen, this thread title is your own perspective.  Isn’t there a blog section here for that kind of bs? The title of the article should be the title of the thread. That’s literally all I’m saying. Nobody cares about the opinion of atrl user “communion”.

I’ve literally never tried to hide anything on here.
