It’s kind of sad that outside of lawyers, very few Americans have no idea how any of the rights in the bill of rights work. They really need to be hammering how those rights work in our public schools.

I just read that the only things that twitter took down regarding Hunter was his leaked nudes. Twitter took it down because it was classified as "revenge porn"

While this isn't a great look, let's remember that they weren't actually in government in October of 2020. It's an important distinction in this case

 So what this basically says is that Democrats have indeed gotten in contact with Twitter to remove some things but that the laptop story in particular, which the right is calling their smoking gun, had nothing to do with the government and everything to do with Twitter’s own internal team.

If anything, this shows that twitter is more powerful than the government since twitter silenced people acting as government officials (including Trump when he was acting as president, suspending his account on January 8th 2021 before Biden was sworn in). 
 

To the contrary of the reporter’s point, the US government did not silence twitter, twitter silenced the US government.

No, this shows that Twitter, a PRIVATE COMPANY, has the full rights to silence *anyone* on their platform as they see fit and there is absolutely nothing illegal about that.  If the government, Tim Cook, or Ronald McDonald ask Twitter to remove a tweet that violates Twitter's policies, and they do, that is not a violation of the first amendment.  Elon keeps showing how he knows very little about the US constitution and how the government functions.

If you actually read some of the emails and the Twitter policies cited, they specifically do *not* allow the publishing of materials obtained through hacking to be published on their platform, nor do they allow leaks of nudes or potential nudes to be published.  Interpret this as you will, but both rules predate the Biden admin, so every single thing mentioned thus far falls under one or both of these policies.  

 

This is the problem with more sensitive rules and policies.  We complain when there are too few, and then we complain when those that exist are followed.  Hunter Biden is a private individual, so removing material obtained through the hacking of his laptop is taken even more seriously.
