Genius1111 Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Not really an LGBT-themed movie, but Death On The Nile had a queer couple.Β

And it doesn't have a sad ending which makes it even better. yeah i saw that one like 4 times Β i like that one song that plays during the dance scene too Β

Which would you recommend most? Nnn this is pretty hard Β Maurice is fantastic imo. Its from the 80s and directed by James Ivory whoΒ wrote the screenplay for CMBYN. You'd love it if you like the latter. Β Prayers for Bobby is very depressing but I truly believe that everyone in the LGBT community has to see it at some point. It's a Lifetime movie so don't expect much on the technical side but its a powerful and beautifully-acted telling of a tragic true story. Sigourney Weaver ate and left no crumbs. Β Dream Boy was very traumatizing and depressing so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you're ready. It's not a great movie but for some reason I remember liking it a lot and sobbing towards the ending.Β Β Β Jongens was very sweet and inoffensive. Really good if you're into lighthearted and happy coming of age stories. Β House of Boys was nothing special and it does what many other gay films have done before. A heartbreaking movie about gays and AIDS. Edited December 4, 2022 by State of Grace.

As many have said here, it's great. Already a modern gay classic. Β If you're interested in watching lesbian films, Portrait of a Lady on Fire is exquisite. I saw it in theaters and was so moved. Β Do you like slow burns? I assume you do since you liked Power of the Dog lol (which I thought was excellent). I don't see any Marco Berger on your list and I love his work. Hawaii and The Blonde One are my faves. His work is very interested in building sexual tension, so they're usually not very flashy or fast-paced. Β I also really liked A Moment in the Reeds. It's almost entirely the two leads talking to each other, but I thought it was really hot Β It's kinda similar to God's Own Country in a way, so maybe watch that first, and if you like it, check out AMitR. Β Finally, The Man with the Answers and Just Friends were also pretty good.
