I don't know why I like older gay movies and TV show storylines more than today's, but maybe because they felt less commercial.

 

I just got into this Catalan TV show called El Cor de la Ciutat (Hear of the City) from the early 2000s.

 

There's this cute guy, Max (Bernat Quintana), who he appeared in like 700 episodes. But most importantly, over the years, he came out and had several boyfriends.

 

You guys might have seen this clip on Youtube before. Max is the taller guy. He also had a relationship with a guy called Iago.

I knew this movie would be a wild ride. and it didn't disappoint in that department.

The first 20-30 minutes are some meta brilliance, i loved it. I do agree somewhat with some people saying they wanted to see what the first half of the movie promised become reality but obviously that's not the theme of the film. Death, depression, shallowness and self-interest are the true themes here. Yet, it was still awful seeing what happened to our lead. I didn't want to believe he was gone

This movie deserves some awards from critic circles. It was legit strong as **** ?!?

I'm so glad we live in a world where gays are able to write and direct projects that talk about the gay experience of some in such an unapologetically real and bold, yet smart manner.

I'm so happy gay cinema is a thing.

When you see such movies playing in the theater, buy a ticket and support it when you can y'all

Seems likely to be a(n) foreign/international movie or series.

 

Unless it is a series, no specific English movies come to mind.
