As I suspected. There's bigger parties at risk which is why they aren't pursuing it. If the accusers try to come for DJ, he'll be hellbent on bringing down the companies with him. 

 

At this point the queens not under NDA's and that aren't victims need to read him every chance they get, because he won't want bigger publicity from a defamation lawsuit. Or if he does, that'll lead to discovery, which he doesn't want either. 

 

The We're Here and DWTS money would dry up quickly for him with top-shelf lawyers anyways.

 

He's done on ABC so they have nothing to defend - he's not big enough with HBO where they wouldn't be willing to toss him to the curb. WOW presents certainly doesn't give a **** about cutting ties entirely even for bigger stars.

And yet on the other side of that coin, when a person with notoriety is accused, they are given the benefit of the doubt so much so that it discourages victims from pursuing any sort of legal retribution for the perpetrator. Shangela has money and resources that most of the general population won’t have, and cases of rape or sexual assault are already difficult enough to prove without witnesses or physical evidence like r*pe kits. If someone is carrying out these actions in private, there’s already no witnesses. Add to that the shame and guilt that comes along with the experience and the backlog for kits in this country and you’re basically fighting a losing battle before you’ve even begun.

I worked at a gay bar in Texas that DJ (Shangela) and Liam Riley (gay p*rn star) were drinking at one night in September 2018. I got off early and DJ invited me to join them as they continued bar hopping. I was excited at the prospect so I tagged along. At the end of the night when the bars were closed I attended an after party in an apartment of someone DJ knew. Everyone started to leave and DJ told me he wanted to give me something before I left, he led me in a closet in the bathroom (I wouldn’t have followed him in there if I knew that’s where he was taking me) and then he tried to force himself on me. He kept trying to pull my pants down and shove himself in me.. but I wouldn’t let him penetrate. I was really drunk and tired so I couldn’t fight back enough to get away or leave. So I laid there flat on my stomach, his knee on my back, and he masturbated until he came on my backside. It was disgusting and I felt really humiliated and ashamed. I walked home not knowing what to say or what to do so I just told a few of my closest friends and decided to post about it here on ATRL where I felt like I could get some community support but instead I was met with a lot of doubt. Which, fair enough, is what tends to happen in these situations.

On one side social media are helping for your voice to be heard 

On the other side there are ppl who take advantage of it to accuse other ppl of something to gain popularity or i dont know what ( Ricky Martin case ) 

 

I would have preferred the victim to go straight to the police and let the justice deal with it

He was cleared of all charges and he's dead. 

With the information you have these days, even if some time has passed you should go to the police. 

I just see people saying Shangela is guilty just because they don't like her...

But I am not, nor will I ever, condemn a black queen on the basis of one accusation that is impossible to prove true or false as a random ***** on a message board. Silky was accused of this same thing as her season aired only for the person to later admit they made it all up cause they disliked her. Dahli from dragula had the same thing happen to her just last year so I will not rush to condemn a queen on heresay nor would I EVER question a victim or say a person sharing their story is lying. Keep my name out of your mouth in general but especially on something as serious as this. Reporting you immediately as deserved.

I’d rather be wrong about believing a sexual assault or rape survivor than be wrong about supporting a rapist.

There is a reason victims of rape and sexual assault don’t go to law enforcements. They are often not believed or taken seriously and if they are, the process of actually charging, let alone find someone guilty of sexual assault and rape is extremely difficult and traumatizing.
