skwonderfactory Posted August 15 Posted August 15 The first half is out! I'm going to watch a couple of episodes later today after I run all of my errands/take care of some business. Hopefully it's better than season 3, which was underwhelming compared to the first two.
skwonderfactory Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Finally finished the first five episodes and I thought this season was a significant improvement over the third until that last one because… yeah… no. Spoiler • Why the f**k was Camille's pregnancy such a big storyline only for her to not be pregnant?!? You're telling me she never once went to the doctor to get it professionally confirmed and for checkups? You're a bad mother already! This feels likes a major plot cop out. • Luc staying with Marianne is a delulu move. Like she manipulated you into a relationship by lying about a job that she no longer has. • Why is Sylvie's agency keeping that lube (falsely marketed facial skincare product)? People are definitely going to find out it's actually lube considering the initial pitch on that Fox/Shark Tank-like show is public! • Sophie still wanted Camille to come with her to Athens despite her seeing how Camille looks at Gabriel with that certain glimmer in her eye?! Like, you barely even mentioned that when you know that's the huge issue and clearly you two don't stand on the same ground. • Emily didn't seem very emotionally effected once she found out Gabriel wasn't getting a Michelin Star. Like she knows how much effort he put in. • What about Mindy and Nicolas? Are we supposed to just assume they are officially broken up because it was never mentioned on-screen unless I missed something. • No mention of Alfie. I guess he's just been written out unless he randomly appears in the finale or something. I haven't watched the part two trailer but we shall see what happens when it drops in just a few days.

Spoiler Camille's pregnancy was a plot device as cliff hanger, and have her win stupid prices after all the mess in S3. She lost both of her partners, no baby, nothing. They'll probably have her reinvent herself on part 2 and not come back on S5.
Exodus Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Actually a good season. Rome was beautiful. An interesting new, love interest. Mindy's got a good storyline with her career. I like the mentor/mentee relationship that has finally developed between Emily x Sylvie. Too bad they couldn't bring back Kate Walsh. Her character was campy and fun. I liked the Maggie from Younger and selfie throwback to S1 in the last episode. Hopefully doesn't take another year for another short season. 1
CBC Posted September 18 Posted September 18 really enjoyed this season . kinda annoyed tho that emilie always has to have a romantic interest, let the poor girl rest and I'm worried about this new Rome thing. It's still Emilie in Paris... but maybe they could take the time to explain how she is going to work in Rome so easily, she's not an EU citizen afterall...

CBC Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Just now, TOKYO. said: Then why your comment on that they need to explain her to work as a non EU citizen? Its really annoying… go watch a documentary if you need non fiction the show is set in real life so i expect real life situations to happen on the show. we don't need to see her go to the immigration office and american embassy to deal with her papers, but having at least 5min of the show bring up the question "oh can emilie still be in paris?" would be interesting and give more flavour to it. they have shown her struggle with the language and the culture, which a lot of people watching can relate because they've also lived in foreign countries. bureaucracy is also an important part of that process, one that i'm sure viewers would like addressed, even if it's done in a more fiction way.

If everyone would be such a critic like you, we wont have nice (escape) shows/movies
igninton Posted September 18 Posted September 18 First Paris now Rome... can this show get any more stereotypically basic in the mind of a privileged American?
CBC Posted September 18 Posted September 18 2 hours ago, TOKYO. said: If everyone would be such a critic like you, we wont have nice (escape) shows/movies I just made a small remark about the show, I LOVE the fun escapism it offers that's what keeps me watching. I don't want a documentary, it's just something worth mentioning and it could result in a fun episode or even a small arc on the show 1
AndresVanDeKamp Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I love turning my brain off and consuming this slop in one sitting. So delicious. 3

When Emily was being asked about London I DREAD to think what the episodes would belike as a Brit 1
