I expected a bit more for Shakira but it isn't that bad at all. The album will cross 100k easily. That's a good number for a bilingual album overall.

Ouch, Shakira's lowest peaking album in almost 20 years. Deserved tbh.

Can you stop with this borderline racist nonsense? Chantaje was #51 on the H100 with NO promo, Despacito a huge spanish hit with promo was #46 before the Justin Bieber remix. So the song did pretty well for a spanish song in the US and it also did good in Europe.

Poor Shakira. Her stans get so brave with her youtube views despite nearly all major spanish artists pulling the same numbers. Fact is outside of latino countries shes as irrelevant as the rest of her 00's peers.

Shakira is basically the MOST GLOBAL artist out there. You just DON'T come for her, specially if you stan for local artists.

Local artists who sell more globally? :ahh:

I love Shakira but the only reason why she is getting dragged is because this constant lazy line her fans used to try and discredit Beyonce in the comparison threads. One is bigger in predominantly Spanish/portugese countries and the other English speaking countries, this also reflects in their sales vs streams...

I dont get why people are trying to drag shakira, its a spanish album and 7 years ago sale el sol sold 46k first week so given then difference in sales -18k is actually really good. Maybe if she had an english album out ya'll could try to discredit her but everyone's acting like their faves debuted with 300k from a spanish album last week.. It literally makes a huge difference

Love Shaki but hopefully this humbles her stans and their skewed definition of "global"

You're trying to drag Shakira's globalness with local US #'s for a Spanish album :deadbanana:?! Hive logic...Why doen't your fave write and produxe an album in a foreign language? Let's see how much is does. Oh wait :rip:

Enrique opened with 24.000 in 2014, so the numbers are ok.

Who am I dragging exactly ? I'm saying that a lot of her stans have a completely flawed definition of "global". Just look at all the comments trying to drag Beyoncé for being local (the fact that a single Hive comment triggered yall so easily is just :toofunny3:) simply because she's mainly big in the Anglosphere and not so much in Latin America when in reality you could say the same thing about Shakira, just reversed. She hasn't been a force in the Anglosphere for years now. Shakira an English album didn't do much there, not even with Rihanna's help. And no, Chantaje wasn't soo global since it mainly was a Latin hit that failed to make a dent anywhere else, though it was kinda big in France too (but it didn't go top 10). Her stans need to stop acting like it was another HDL

Claiming that being big in Latin countries automatically means that you're global is a stupid misconception that i've seen a lot in here

Anyone coming for Shakira's numbers is completely stupid and has no grasp on reality. You can't get a WW smash from an album that isn't english, that's just the fact of the matter, but Shak's still managing to go #1 in a ton of non-spanish markets and is still holding up great. Beyonce would not do this with a non-english album and that's undeniable. Can't wait for her huge 350k+ debut with no promo.

Album: El Dorado

Beyoncé did 500k twice... with no promo :ahh:

well. she's doing same trendy sexy latin bop to extend her chart career.

young people might like it. and it will give you some airplay and nice chart peak.

but they won't buy the albums. it's just another fun pop song in radio, will be replaced with another one a month later.

Sis, you know damn well that your avi seriously hit a nerve, which is hilarious since your comment wasn't even offensive in any way :toofunny2:

but I see a lot of "the Hive this and the Hive that" and "Beyoncé is local1!1" bs in this thread

i'm not even trying to drag Shakira since I like her but some of you are beyond hilarious

I don't the the hive's obsession with Shakira. Y'all lucky I like Beyonce because I would've dragged her to the pits of hell. What has Shakira done to have you guys so triggered? I am shooketh :deadbanana2: Shakira's numbers are understandable because, first the focus was in Latin America and Spain -- second she didn't promote the album in the US. She didn't even bother making an English version of her single as she usually does. However, I like it when Shakira gets peasants mad even when she's flopping

Wait until she releases When a Woman and we'll see who gets the last laugh.

This Beyoncé and Shakira fight is giving me Beautiful Liar tease. We're fighting against each other while the real problem is the person who made that thread.

Nobody told any of you to argue. And this thread was going to be made either way, seeing as it's a weekly HDD thread.
