Yikes, not you too Helena... What a disappointment.

Well she was married to Tim Burton so I'm not surprised by this

Not this old white woman saying that it would be boring not having people invalidating the existence of transgender people :deadbanana2:. What could stop her from saying the same about racist and homophobes?

I truly hope that she's just out of touch and doesn't know the extent of JK's attacks on the trans community.

It does seem to match that belief that Depp has been vindicated, which is only true if you read a tweet and a headline (at best they're both seem as abusive so don't know how that vindicates him but the bar is low isnt it :rip:). She's a boomer after all.

Just making upnexcuses to cope tbh

……. Johnny and Amber are both trash when it comes to relationships. Helena and Johnny have worked together before multiple times so her defending him isn’t a shock. I know she was in the HP movies (and she slayed) but her defending JK’s anti trans comments is… well… maybe she’s been talked to about reprising her role?

In regards to her thoughts on JK Rowling, I’m really sick of people defending harmful behaviour by saying "Well it’s just their opinion.“ No! It’s not an opinion when it’s harming trans people in real life and until that stops, it will never just be an opinion. There is a right and a wrong here and we need to stop pretending as though both sides are legitimate because they certainly are not.

“It’s just an opinion”

Not when those opinions turn into violence. Which is the case for trans people in this very moment. Like read the room you h@g! 2 trans people were literally gunned down a little over a week ago in Colorado and here you are trying to give credence to JKR‘s transphobia! :irate:

Love her so much abd shes my fav actress..

It was obvious she'll support Johnny.. They are super close for many years.

She should've kept quiet.

She was kind of right about jk tho. The backlash was too much.

Being a sexual assault and domestic violence survivor does not justify transphobia and transphobic rhetoric.

If Helena wants to be a willful pick-me, she's free to be. :cm:

No it absolutely is not. She is repeatedly spouting horrific transphobia and she's lost nothing at all. Tf?

There's way too much to unpack with this I won't get to.

I guess for starters I can't stand these kinds of interviews with no extra room to unpack topics as they deserve and the coverage of them with the pull quotes for easy clickbait is even worse and just such a dead horse at this point.

While JK Rowling will always have her loyal, sizeable fanbase there specifically for her recent publicization of her stances on trans folks which obviously still needs to be paid attention to, some of her recent projects haven't been doing as well so her perpetuity is based more on legacy projects now which means I'm admittedly not paying as much attention to her not being as central to the zeitgeist. As for Amber and Johnny, my understanding is the case based on the most recent countersuit isn't even over yet, so I'll be waiting a few years after that is over to make a verdict over the sweeping conclusions I'm reading regarding how either of their careers will survive or it's impact on #MeToo.

Im not saying jk was right.

Im saying that people said way worse than her and havent faced 10% of the hate she got.

i agree with johnny (not that he's fully vindicated) but the jk defense doesn't make sense at all :skull:
