Jennifer Lopez - 'This Is Me... Now'

After sitting w the album for a while, now I kinda think Can't Get Enough shouldn't have been the lead single

While JLo can serve quality urban, ppl still like her best in dance (WFN, OTF) or latin (Let Get Loud). 'This Time Around' is the closest song to that tropical/ latin-influenced sound and might have performed better had it been the lead single tbh

I also would choose Dear Ben Pt. 2 as the ballad promo single (which was promoted at SNL)

- Buzz single: Hearts and Flowers (a video that reminds ppl of the original album)

- Official 1st radio single: This Time Around

- Buzz ballad single: Dear Ben Pt.2 (promoted at SNL)

- Focus track (on album release week): Can't Get Enough

The tour is called This Is Me... Now. It would be weird to not perform the tracks its associated with.

Didnt she renamed the tour jlo live? Because the album was a flop and therefore tickets were not selling quickly.

Nope, it still has the same name. They just glammed the photoshoot and promo images. lol

Go to her socials and check the promo image and caption (https://www.instagram.com/p/C4ilwMPL3OW/?igsh=MWswdnE1NmE1Y3JzdQ==). The tour still has This Is Me… Now on the promos. They just changed the promo photo to show more glam and added #JLoLive.

Tickets not selling quickly is silly—and people love to **** on her and use that because of the bandwagon hate train going against her currently. She's actually selling tickets faster than her It's My Party tour, which did great selling out.

This tour is much more expensive then her last one too (some tix run higher than Beyoncé's, lol). I have no worries about the tour selling out eventually.

Finally get into the album as a whole.

It's really good, cohesive, well written and the vocals are on point.

I still don't like the title track, the vocals that I like the least tbh, too scretch.

Best song: not.going.anywhere

Highs: To Be Yours, Can't Get Enough, Dear Ben pt. II, Rebound, This Time Around

Lows: This Is Me...Now, Hummingbird

Ill have to disagree with your comment on This Is Me...Now. Its a great opener and allows the listener breathing room for whats to come. Its beautiful and the instrumental is so gorgeous. Also I love to yell THIS IS ME NAAWWOOWWW

It's happened a lot with established/legacy acts when the parent album doesn't do as expected. :rip:

I can see why they went with CGE. The album needs to get listened to as a whole, so it's hard for me to pick a standout.

I'm the worst at these, I would have dropped Dear Ben, Pt II as lead but with its original title instead, Signs :deadbanana2:

I've watched movie now and honestly I am shocked at how actually good it is. So much effort, love, energy and money went into it, it breaks my heart seeing album bomb like that and hate trend on tiktok. Instead of celebrating one of the hardest working woman in the industry for the effort the internet is taking her down while celebrating people who don't deserve it. I hate this world.

Having said that I cant really say I love the album.

I was thinking about this whole situation. The album is good. It's probably her strongest body of work, and alone it could've worked. She's making the same mistakes she made the first time around though by ramming her personal love life down everyone's throats again. Less is more. There's no need to combine her personal and professional life to this extent. It's only going to hurt both. The movie, although done beautifully is very self absorbed and I think that's what's rubbing the public up the wrong way, because the projects themselves aren't bad at all.

This is exactly what she should have done

This Time Around would have ATE as a single

I don't like the song TIMN but, like you, I also randomly say This Is Me Naaaaoouuw to my friends as a joke at the most random moments:rip:

Is To Be Yours, title track is great

I'm shook—To Be Yours is top 3 for me. Try listening to it again to see if it grows on you. It's one of the songs that clicked with me instantly.

Thank you! Say it louder for the people in the back. I always have to giggle because on TikTok it seems like everyone's "brother-in-law's cousin's nephew's best friend who knows someone" had an experience with J.Lo. Almost as if J.Lo is never working and just chatting to random people that are on TikTok all the time. It's laughable. Most of these people are just joining bandwagon hate, sheep following the herd, knowing their videos will get a ton of engagement and views. Which in turn gives them clout.

It's incredible how they always find so many things to hate her for! Like everyday there's a new Tik Tok shading her. While other "divas" have been constantly rude and unapologetic for doing horrible things and people are like "Queen yass". lol

People are annoying. And also, the lack of self-awareness too. Sitting in a parking lot in your car, sipping on iced coffee and ranting for 3 minutes on TikTok calling J.Lo "J.Ho" and "untalented", and a total "Bítçh" cause the cat of their aunt allegedly told them so :bibliahh:

Insufferable!! Some of these people have even come out that they were only joining the hate just cause they wanted to go viral and made up whatever they said about her for clout. Annoying really!

I think releasing TIMN as a single was a mistake. IMO it should've just been a cute little interlude on the album (Maybe full song on deluxe).

For singles I would have picked:

1 & 2. Rebound and This Time Around (Dual release in January when people want a new beginnings)

3. Hearts & Flowers

4. Can't Get Enough (Album Release Week)

5. Greatest Love Story Never Told

Posted

Rewatched the movie last night for the 2nd time and loved it even more :falcon:

She really served us excellent, cinematography, choreography and self love.
