Portuguese, Spanish, french and italian acts have won awards there since ever. This isn’t new

latin grammys are called like that because of the language not because is only about latin america. So spain is a latin country too. Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Malta etc.. are called latin europe. 

 

Also can these people understand Grammys brand is recognizing "the best music". I'm not saying what wins is always the absolute best, there is often a compromise between commercial success, quality and cultural impact but it's not Mtv, their purpose is not to just recognizing what is big in pop culture or whatever so who cares how many bad bunny songs her club played loool .

 

Rosalia has an acclaimed album, she's really a very discussed and analyzed artist and the album has some very big streaming hit. She's the perfect choice to win a grammy.

The fact that she thinks bigger numbers = quality says it all. The fact that she doesn't know LATIN Grammy Awards includes music sung in spanish (no matter where the spanish comes from) says it all. Sometimes people just want to complain about things, without even doing a little research.

 

"She souldn't be taking away opportunities from actual Latino artist" no one on the actual Latin American countries where Rosalia takes inspo actually cares about this. Not a single person, it's just not a thing. As a matter of fact we love it, and we cherish when a foreign artist pay homage or they play their version. And to be honest it kinda gives our genres more exposure. And specifically Rosalia has always been very respectful about it.
