I'm a developer and unless Elon is trashing Twitter code as well there is no reason why the site would go down suddenly. Large corporations are KNOWN for stopping business operations around Christmas time, from mid December there are very few employees working on some large scale apps and users never know.

 

And if it's all about Qatar championships, then adding server / cloud resources isn't that complicated.
