Toxicity. Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 kinda sad always seeing only Taylor in these lists
LCTV Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Wondering how much ground (if any) she's gaining on Bad Bunny
JustLikeHoney Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Bad Bunny doing three times as well as Harry but Harry had a #1 song for 15 weeks. I honestly really like Harry and I even like As It Was but that song was a purchased #1 for 15 weeks thanks to the radio contract.

You need to understand the there is no relationship between overall streams and single performance UVST (9B) >>>> Harry’s house (3.5B), but AIW (1.5B) is bigger than any Bad bunny’s single
unclefloprry Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Benito almost doubles Taylor's numbers

This is why I prefer looking at the most streamed artist list versus most streamed *female artist list because lists like the OP are more accurate to what the GP is consuming which by and large are male artists and Taylor Swift. And that's not to diminish the female artists that have seen success these past few years, but I genuinely thought more female artists (sans Taylor) were moving up the ranks just by looking at who was dominating the most streamed female artists lists Spotify drops every couple of days, but in the grand scheme of things they're not and are still trailing behind their male contemporaries, which is telling but not surprising. The only that can compete without an astrid by her name and regardless of gender is Taylor. That's why the stan fights between the pop girls are ultimately petty and useless. Every year the most consumed artists always look the same. Sexism plays a huge part, but it really goes to show how little the needle has moved despite some talented female artists emerging in the last few years and why the flop drags between pop girls (and even stans betw. female rappers who also trail behind male rappers who are nowhere on this list) are a self-drag when most of ATRL fave pop & rap girls sans Taylor are never on these most streamed artist of year lists. Not the most streamed female artist, but just artist in general, which is bc most of our faves cannot compete up against dominant male artists and that's the cold hard truth. Hope to see this change in the near future though.

Hope to see this change in the near future though. This is a TAD dramatic, Dua and Olivia were probably in the top ten last year. There really haven’t been any blockbuster female releases this year besides Taylor. It’s fair to say that men get streamed way more in general regardless of whether they’re releasing though.
Literature Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 (edited) if you would have told me in 2019 that taylor would become the biggest female streaming force demolishing billie and ariana i would have laughed in your face. if it wasnt for bad bunny coming out of left field she would have been the biggest streaming act overall Edited November 14, 2022 by Literature
insomniac Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 I’m impressed with Drake. I thought the haters and even his fans said he was in his flop era. Guess not.
Jynx Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Wait. I just saw Eminem at #10. An absolute legend.

I will say that male artists especially dominated for a good portion of this year, more than usual, and female artists came through at the tail end. I think they even said it was the first time in years no female artist had occupied the top 10, then Kate Bush, Lizzo and later Bey came along and shook things up, and then of course Taylor, but it was looking very stale earlier this year. Thanks to wonderful works of Lizzo, Bey and Tay, the girls gifted us a break from having First Class & As It Was shoved down our throats for any longer.
coolblue Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Taylor still not #1 after dropping 3 trillion songs in the last 5 years

Taylor is huge in Asia (while he is unknown there) and they don’t give a damn about Spotify. Also, it’s common knowledge that males have a demographic advantage over women (and that’s why Taylor is the only woman in the top 10). The way you guys are ready to say bullshit just to « drag!!! » an artist. Edited November 14, 2022 by Squall

That’s not even a drag, cause bad bunny actually released more songs than Taylor in last 5 years they just start to say anything without even do a little research

Some of you nasty a** stinky g@ys (no offense) can't never be happy about a woman that's not ur fave being successful and almost immediately proceed to bring them down.

So Bad Bunny has Latin America on lock but Taylor has Asia , US , Canada, Europe, Australia on lock and still struggling behind him.. didn't know latin america was that powerful
