BOOM! Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 It's cute overall, but i can't really say that i am blown away after two listens. Crumbs remains my absolute favorite and Destroy Me is really good, it's kinda giving me t.A.T.u. vibes. But the album as a whole is really well done.
Supervillain Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Y'all are right Cry Hard Enough is very underrated here. Am I delusional to say it sorta reminds me of FKA twigs?
ThatsTheTea Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Crumbs still remains the superior track but as a whole it is good!
PoisonCandy Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 If someone told me 12 years ago that I'd be enjoying a Rebecca Black album more than a Paramore album, I would have laughed so hard, but here we are
Virgos Groove Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Cry Hard Enough is IT. The garage (?) production is brilliant.
Blue Jeans Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 This is lowkey the best album since Renaissance

But it's not something i would listen daily and for too long. Personally it didn't impress me.

Considering the quality of songs she was putting out in 2011-2012, I continue to be impressed by her work from 2017 on, and I’m surprised how anyone couldn’t be. I never saw a career for her. Spoiler Also I lowkey use this more than the new Paramore album which is quite shocking and something I never thought I’d say Edited February 12, 2023 by smoore95GAGA

Polgg48 Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 a decade too late for hate bandwagon, destroy me rot their minds ig
bestfiction Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Anyways, I've just finished listening to this and it's a pretty good album. Nothing super inventive but pretty enjoyable. Really happy for her

I understand what they’re saying but this review reads as such a massive hate boner. I think a 6.8 would be fair: good, fun pop that actually has dynamics, but still stylistically derivative and sounds like somebody said “let’s make something that sounds like every PC music song but is lacking some punch”

There's no way it's a 4/10 considering the albums they were rewarding with 6-7 scores And tbh Rebecca doing hyperpop music just makes sense to me considering her background
Gogetonthebus Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 Nasty mean-spirited review that seems angry about the state of hyperpop in general and took it out on this album. Considering they've never written about her before, it's the same really gross punching-down behavior that they take part in too often.
shookspeare Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 I haven't listened to the album and tbh probably won't but that review was just rude and unprofessional. The quality of writing at pitchfork is just awful

SpaceOddity Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 What Am I Gonna Do With You, Misery Loves Company and Crumbs are EXCELLENT but nothing else stands out. Still I'm glad she's doing her thing.

theflying Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 Holy crap Misery Loves Company is THAT moody dark bop
as926 Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 This is so solid. She needs more recognition for how she has grown artistically.
