The bar is low for rap skill, so dancing really sets you apart fast. Coi needs to get serious and get a real choreographer though who will challenge her. She could eat in that space where Doja was at around Hot Pink into early Planet HER era: Dance, rap, light singing, catchy hooks with tiktok challenges. Perfect for Gen Z. Something sweet for the kids. Edited March 3, 2023 by Flare

One lucky new female rapper getting a crossover/pop hit per year (usually released in the previous year then pops in the new year) and the last one that broke through gets iced out if they don’t use the momentum fully. Doja - 2019 into 2020 Meg - 2020 into 2021 Latto - 2021 into 2022 Coi - 2022 into 2023 It feels like one of those music industry quotas that we (the public) don’t know about but is a thing at radio stations and/or streaming companies. PoisonPill Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 (edited) What is this nepo baby mess? The entire thing is carried by the legendary sample The idea of a music mogul's kid getting carried to a major label deal, mass radio payola and top TV bookings... then beginning to work on her musical and performing abilities Like the absolute gall... what a slap in the face to the thousands of artists who spend their entire lives slaving away praying for their big break.
