Not surprised. The Conjuring 2 was a long while ago and we are up to the 4th now in development. These spin-off’s need a quick release to capitalize on the hype a la The Nun and Annabelle.

Aw that’s sad. He’s my favorite demon from the Conjuring universe and was excited for a story related to him. I wonder what’s the reason the project ended up getting scrapped.

It seemed like an interesting idea but they must not have been able to come up with a good script  

 

Conjuring 1 > Annabelle prequel > The Nun > Annabel Comes Home > Conjuring 3 > Conjuring 2 > Annabel > La Llorona

It never had the hype of Annabelle or The Nun. It’s presence in The conjuring 2 was random and unexplained. 
 

That said, you’d think it could still be a box office smash just by relation, and WB needs the money. I wonder why they chose to drop it.

None of the Conjuring universe movies are good outside of the actual Conjurings anyway (minus Annabelle: Creation of course) so we didn't lose anything of value

Most of these movies are so forgettable. I only remember what happened in Conjuring 2, The Nun and kinda the one with creepy bride. I can't believe there are 3 Annabelle movies, I don't remember anything at all.

There was initial hype. If they had followed up in like 2017-18, he would’ve slayed. I feel they would’ve made a decent script whilst Nun obviously fell to your typical tropes.
