This is his THIRD album in a year and he's still pulling bigger first weeks than 99% of the industry and streaming better than anyone not named Taylor Swift He's overstated, literally never NOT putting music out and still wiping the floor with everyone Also not to mention he's not pushing any vinyl variants or physicals and it's not a solo album. Could easily do 600-700k otherwise

ALA Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Yeah it's kinda surprising Drake doesn't do physicals for his latest albums. Think vinyls for his latest would do really well

Scorpion did 160k pure sales mainly from digital copies. It had no physical sales on it's debut. Via Billboard: "While Scorpion launches with over three times as many streams as Views tallied in its first week (745.9 million vs. 245.9 million), Views was able to earn a bigger overall unit number (1.04 million) because it had a much more robust bow in terms of traditional album sales. Views sold 851,000 albums in its first week, all from digital downloads. (The CD didn’t go on sale until its second week of availability). Comparatively, Scorpion sold 160,000 copies, all via digital download. Scorpion will be issued on CD on July 13." Y'all just spreading misinformation at this point lol

He would easily do 200-300k physical if he actually PUSHED them. A flop rapper recently pushed vinyl and did 40k, you think Drake won't be able to do 100k vinyl??

I wasn’t trying to spread misinformation, my apologies. But still, Drake’s only big pure sales week has always been Views. He definitely stopped putting out physicals for a reason.

Not trying to do that at all, I just mixed up my memories. I should’ve fact checked before I posted! Drake is far and away the biggest male artist in the US. I’m not here to downplay that. There’s no competition.
BnPac Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Swifties are on all fronts : the Drake's fans, the navy, the adelefants... Like take a breather. You have a new album and a bunch of records to celebrate. ------ Cool for Drake, I am still very disappointed about the Megan's line ngl.

The last Drake album to drop with physicals was Nothing Was the Same back in 2013. And his first 3 albums debuted with 447k (2010), 631k (2011) and 658k (2013). Since then, he has dropped 10 full-length projects all without physicals.

Ok I see But the reason he is not pushing physicals is because he's LAZY and he's content with his huge streaming success. I doubt it's because he can't sell them. I am sure if he actually put in the work and pushed mainly vinyl and few physicals, it would increase his debut.

It screams insecurity. It's not enough that Taylor is massively successful. They have to rub it in everyone's faces for no good reason. I really don't get it. They've been pressed about Drake since he announced Her Loss. It's really something.
Squall Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Not him supposedly opening with more vinyl than Harry Styles, these Drake stans honestly

That plus he works on all his projects till the last minute so there's never any time to submit them for physicals to be made. I don't know why people are so convinced he wouldn't be able to move physicals when the last time he dropped physicals for an album upon release was 9 years and 10 projects ago.

Y'all just spreading misinformation at this point lol CDs and vinyl for Scorpion came out in its third week and he only did 13k so... Via Billboard: Second-Smallest Sum for the Week’s Top-Selling Album: Conversely, reflecting the continued decline of album sales, as Scorpion stays steady at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, it's also stationary at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart for a third frame. The latter list ranks albums based on traditional album sales. Scorpion sold 29,000 copies in the latest tracking week (up less than 1 percent) and tallies the second-smallest sum for the week’s top-selling album since Nielsen Music began tracking sales in 1991. The smallest sales total ever for the week’s No. 1-selling album was actually notched by Scorpion a week ago, when it sold a handful of copies less than this week's total. Scorpion was able to squeak out a small gain in the week ending July 19, as its CD was released on July 13. The set was previously only available to purchase as a digital album. The CD debuts with 13,000 copies sold in the week ending July 19, while the digital album sold 16,000 (down 44 percent).
