1,578,000 first week is absolutely insane :deadbanana2: Before the album came out I thought it was gonna do 700K (which still would’ve been great) but this is just madness

Artificially boost her sales? It’s called having an actual sales strategy, not selling f*cking jockstraps on your site. Besides, multiple artists do this and don’t even get close to Taylor, this is what happens when you have DEMAND.

She sold 1.6M copies first week, period. Stop embarrassing yourself :toofunny2:

Midnights is also available in deluxe boxed set with a CD edition of the album and a Swift-branded T-shirt, exclusively for Capital One cardholders.

Better 1st week for sure but the same as midnights probably no. that was after Reputation & Lover both eras are either loved or hated, she gained a lot of respect after Folklore album

Agreed. folklore deserved this kind of first week attention. Midnights has its gems, but it didn’t quite hit me like the others. Congrats to Taylor!

At this point I wouldn't even be surprised if it debuts with +1m :deadbanana2:

Chemtrails having like 7 variants but doing 75K first week. :rip: No shade to Lana I love her but obviously the variants don’t equate to your success. Lana would not have only done 10K with one variant :rip:

Exactly, any other artist could release 100 versions of their album (which they do) and would still struggle to achieve ¼ of Taylor's success

She did THAT :clap3:

The real joke is that she will easily clear the mark again with her next album, because both vinyl sales and streaming are growing.

Taylor’s fanbase is more rabid than Lana’s though and obviously a lot bigger, the multiple variants and the effect of adding 7 songs after people had already purchased definitely fuelled this number. I think it’s delusional to deny this but I also think it would’ve done a million regardless.

I think if it had a normal release without these it would’ve done 1.1.12M which still blows everyone else away.
