Thought on fat liberation?

I think being time poor, or lacking cooking / nutritional education, is more pertinent than price tbh, how much really is a bag of carrots, apples, a cabbage, a bag of rice etc.

Those are more expensive, and time consuming to prepare than fast food, and 24 million Americans live in food deserts and might not have access to fresh fruits and veggies or grocery stores.

It’s really not that simple. 95% of people who attempt to lose weight can’t keep it off in the long run. Our metabolisms aren’t designed to keep weight off. Even long term lifestyle changes usually only produce modest differences in weight.

Bold statistic but even if that were true then you just keep going. You don’t just give up because you don’t have your dream body in 6-12 months. It takes work. If that 95% attempt and fail it’s because they don’t want to put in the work and simply lazy.

OT: Liberated from…what exactly? :deadbanana4:

Any weight that goes above or below the healthy-BMI doesn’t get my support. I won’t shame others for how they look but I won’t praise either.

So anyone who can’t lose weight is lazy. Got any peer-reviewed articles to back that up or are you going off of your anti-Semitic conspiracy brain like you did in that Kanye thread you started the other day?

Oh I’m aware that it’s not 100% accurate given the fact it doesn’t consider muscle or bone mass, but it’s the closest wildly accessible metric we have to measure healthy weight, an alternative would be visiting a nutritionist, but not everyone can afford that.

I think there's a balance we can strike between being kind and respectful of those who are obese, while not promoting it as healthy. We can do both.

This lie...people keep saying fastfood is cheaper but it's 1000% not and it's being proven time and time again.

People buy fastfood because it's easy and that's it. Some people are too lazy too cook

No one should be body-shamed and fat people should be able to feel beautiful. Saying being fat is healthy though is nonsense and we should be able to discuss it as a health issue.

In regards to the Taylor video, that’s just a bunch of perpetually online weirdos who just want to make everything about them.

This. No doctor would not advise you to watch your weight. It's medically unhealthy (obesity) but like you said, there are nicer ways to go about it. Also being in shape/healthy is just naturally attractive and it boosts your confidence too. So get in shape if you can y'all.
