As much as I love her, she hasn’t been musically relevant since the physical albums era. She’s a legacy artist. Yeah, I expected it too. There's something I see often though that pisses me off a lot and that is people writing off the huge success she had in the late '90s and early 2000s. I see people acting like her 15-year break erased all of the amazing things she was able to accomplish prior to that. She will always be an icon and nothing will take that away.

I think it's because most of us here are in our 20s so it's hard to understand what it was like in 1999. And the average stan Twitter user is a teenager, so it's even harder for them to get it. But still, she's got over 14 million monthly listeners on Spotify. That's great. And her old hits have really nice total streams.

Unfortunately we’re gonna see more people trying it as time goes on. If you weren’t alive when Shania was at her peak it’s hard to understand just how massive she was. It’s one thing looking at the sales and chart positions, but actually experiencing it is a whole other ball game. I’m sure that at least half the users on this website weren’t even born yet when Come On Over was released Shania cemented her legacy with Come On Over. Literally anything that comes after that is a bonus.
allforyou Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 US Top Albums Sales: #60 - Queen of Me Adult Contemporary: #24 (Re-Entry) - Giddy Up! I'm glad Giddy Up! is still getting pushed on AC radio
@michael Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 I held off listening to this album because I wasn’t hyped about the first two singles, but I was pleasantly surprised. I’m glad that this is a full-blown pop album with not even a trace of country. I feel like Now was a big hurdle for Shania to make since she had been away for so long. It seems like this album came to her a lot easier after getting over that hump. I think the production on this album is a lot better, and the vocal production is miles better. This album isn’t groundbreaking or anything, but Shania is at her best when she is having fun and feeling good. I’m excited to see her in Nashville this summer. My favorite song has to be “Number One”. I never thought I’d hear Shania on a disco dance song. And I love that it was co-written by her son. He clearly inherited both parents’ musical ability.
BraveNewSeth Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 This album is such a big step up from Now. Still doesn’t hold a candle to her material with Mutt, but I’m so happy that she is able to have fun with her music again.

I originally got the album last year with 7 bonus tracks. 2 of them were released on the Target edition, which leaves 5, including the Jack Savoretti feat. I don't understand why only 3 of them were included on the Royal Edition...

Patjagger Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Wanted Man is classic Shania! It's like her best song post-Mutt, I don't understand how it wasn't on the original album...
