jakeisphat Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 During an interview for Bay area radio station, KQED-FM, Mayor Breed outlined her plan for decreasing fentanyl overdoses in San Francisco. During the interview, she said, "There are unfortunately a lot of people who come from a particular country — from Honduras. And a lot of the people who are dealing that drug happen to be of that ethnicity . . . We all know it, it’s the reality. It’s what you see. It’s what’s out there." After the clip went viral on social media, and being pelted with racial profiling accusations, she later apologized, saying, "I want to apologize to the Latino community for what I said and how I said it. In trying to explain what is happening in the Tenderloin, I failed to accurately and comprehensively discuss what is an incredibly complex situation in our City and in Central America." https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/san-francisco-mayor-london-breed-comments-hondurans/3035592/
Archetype Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Does she have data to support this accusation? Even if so, you shouldn't generalize a community even if a majority of X is from said community, it stigmatizes them and makes innocent people look really bad.
DirtyPony87 Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Oof. This was way worse than I thought it was gonna be. This isn’t like an ignorant gaffe like, “Oops. I misspoke.” She was very, very clear about what she meant to say. Disgusting.
Rihbeyga Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 The way I read that as Breed kinks Hondurans
