wowsignal14 Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 100,000 Pure sales in Mainland China after only 8.5 hours of Pre-sales. for comparison Red (TV) took 6 days to reach 100,000 pre orders there. and Lover sold 92k in its first 24 hours of pre sales. also a reminder that bulk buying was banned in China in September 2021. so these sales are totally legit.
Bang Up Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 y'all still using these "china sales" when there is no verified source that counts/verifies sales in china. it's just not how the system works over there. there's a reason labels in the US don't tout these numbers as official.
taylorrrr Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 Not some musician-turn-actress fan being uneducated in this thread by dismissing the 6th biggest music market as "not verified source" when QQMusic which has over 100 million subscribers being a legitimate source.

IFPI counts them as legitimate sales in their YE ranks. bulk buying has been banned. and there is an official website that publishes data for all albums available to be sold. it aggregates data from all the platforms where albums are sold there (QQ, NetEase, etc...) y.saoju.net
