dreampop Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 which is the better and bigger console. Both sold over 100M systems WW and are critically acclaimed. Which do you prefer and what’s the bigger era overall in terms of impact and popularity.
arceus Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 The Wii walked so the Switch can run a ******* marathon
Subzero Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 Loved both but Switch feels bigger and I prefer the Switch as it's portable but the Wii was great for it's time. Wii Sports Resort was so dang fun when I had it
mercurialworld Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 The Wii was iconic. Being a kid in 2006 and getting one for Christmas was the greatest feeling in the world. I'm sure everybody who had one at the time can relate. I actually have never used the Switch though so maybe my opinion would be different otherwise, but the nostalgia of the Wii is just too strong imo.
Cruel Summer Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 The Switch has been my favorite console ever, and it’s on track to maybe end up the biggest, too. It’s already outsold the Wii.
geddymonster Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 The Wii felt bigger. I remember people buying them in parking lots over the holidays.
ninasayers Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 The Switch is clearly bigger, given it's already outsold the Wii (which is genuinely insane), but i think the Wii is the far superior console
hector.adriel Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 Wii is iconic, Wii Sports alone is But Switch is on a whole ‘nother level, it runs MILES around the Wii. Switch has to be one of the best game consoles ever made. IMO only downside is its limited catalogue outside of Nintendo games.
youreyesgocold Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 I guess switch, but low key my cousins were over last weekend and we played some party games on wiiu for nostalgia and she still EATS these two. Poor wiiu. The game pad is truly a marvel for multiplayer couch games. Nintendo Land and even Wii Party U are SERVES.

teenager Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 (edited) I feel the Switch wouldn't exist without the Wii and nothing is more iconic than friends and family stepping on the Wii Fit board just to be told they're a fat **** The Switch is commercially bigger but I feel the Wii was a bigger cultural moment considering it was huge without TikTok or Twitter and it's still referenced frequently - it's music, the broken TVs from projectile controllers, the Miis, Wii Fit, Wii Sports ALONE I mean, cmon??? That being said, I love my Switch and it's such an incredible piece of technology. It blew my mind when it was released. Edited October 16, 2022 by teenager
thatsmydemi Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 Switch is the one with Pokémon's mainline titles so it wins by default.
Life Savers Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 Switch. I liked playing with my friends Wii consoles but never bought one myself because the gimmick was only fun for a couple hours at a time.
americanlife Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 The Wii was such a cultural reset. It completely changed the game (no pun intended). So many households had a Wii and that console was able to reach people that weren’t into video games. The Wii is still used in lots of nursing homes to this day.

Pop Life Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 The Wii felt bigger but the Switch is better by galaxies
wish Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Wii was huge in my childhood and Switch has been the only other console to measure up to it since
