But LOCAL!!!!

Posted

But nobody listens to her in my small town in the mountains of Slovenia so she’s not global :giraffe:

But some users told me Taylor is supposed to be local and their faves are the true global superstar with barely 1 album hanging on to the album chart

Posted

Not her charting 5 albums in 4 countries of the continent where she's supposedly a flop.

Suddenly it’s oh so quiet

When did Amsterdam and Brussels become part of Ohio and North Carolina? I wasn’t aware :giraffe:

We’ve been knew she’s popular in the English speaking countries

These threads are pointless until Mrs Lisa is streaming her from her throne at the Louvre and we all KNOW IT :bam:

More than half of Belgians speak English

Yes, but that does not make it an 'English speaking country'. Unlike the US or the UK, life isn't conducted in English outside of very specific settings. The fact that the population of Belgium has a good understanding of English does help given Taylor's talent for writing English lyrics, but that does not put it in the same tier as the US or the UK.

EDIT: Plus, there are many countries where half the population speaks some English, and Taylor does also perform well in countries where English proficiency is below 50% (like China, for instance...)

Her dominance in the PH is mind-blowing.  But of course the PH are not in Europe so ATRL does not care.

Yeah, especially since their market size / numbers actually amount to something unlike a lot of the small European countries with charts :deadbanana4:

Before I entered the thread I expected 6/7 to be Anglosphere countries - US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand. I was right about 5/7, pleasently surprised by miss Swift :clap3:

Lover & 1989 on all the lists. :clap3:
