Its overall success was definitely more global but it still did very well in the United States. As a matter of fact, its pure sales aren’t exceptionally far from “Dangerously In Love” in the U.S (4.8M vs 5.4M - although “DIL” has much higher SPS of course) as well as “Britney” (5.2M - but that was Spears’ third studio album, not second). “Stripped” only sold 4.5M or so less than her ”CA” which is good. Stripped has similar sales to albums released during that time, including Justified, Dangerously in Love, & Britney.
