This album is so so so good. She just knows how to make pop classics. Tastes Like You is pop perfection. 
 

I don’t care as much about the numbers because we all knew it would bomb but it’s just sad so many people won’t be hearing how good this album is.

I was thinking how it still feels kind of odd for someone like Ellie to even jokingly call a new album her "least personal yet" and while I enjoy the record lots and I know it doesn't try to be something it's not, it does feel like a contract-fulfilling collection of songs and nothing more. So I went to dig some stuff and as a fun fact, these are the dates when each of the songs were originally recorded, more or less  Most of them barely changed since that time as well

wait... there's something about it. I guess I found the 2018 songs the weakest on the project? Like, c'mon, Love Goes On, Waiting For It, How Long, Intuition and Better Man?! I would put literally all of them in the "worse" half of the album. While Just For You and Easy Lover aged so much better while being even older? Interesting.

I honestly think this is her best album to date, its the perfect balance of all the genres she's been across throughout her career so far. I wonder if she'll do a Bright Lights / Halcyon Nights treatment for it eventually.

It’s either a case of people returning to that song or it’s an indicator of how many people have started the album and dropped off. Hope it’s not the latter but if so then it reflects a definite interest in her and her projects (that her label apparently don’t expect when they plan her promo and playlisting).  I said it before we had the figures but the most sensible thing to do is to demote the EM video to a visualiser and get a video for MD out asap. Get it playlisted. Ensure it’s the first song that gets shuffled after Miracle on Spotify (because those songs are always the same) and give it one last push. Put her on the sodding One Show again if need be.

it has a trap beat for the breakdown, and also a live band kinda section giving a rock-y vibe, and then some weird electronic production as well so a monstrous mixing of genres... and then clean bandit has a demo where they upped the electronic vibe with synths and other keys and a ******* disgusting pitched down man voice howling something like "you're a ******* dead man" or w/e...
