OhRly? Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Reminds me a bit of Truth or Dare (the smile part)
Sweetestsecret Posted October 16, 2022 Author Posted October 16, 2022 $140M on box office https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt15474916/?ref_=bo_se_r_1
BNF91 Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 This will completely clear Halloween Ends at the box office, did not see that coming. Won't even be close. In fact, Smile might be ahead of Halloween as soon as next weekend, with how dreadful the legs are on the rebooted Halloween franchise.

Smile will be the best grossing horror movie of the year on box office..it will surpass nope, black phone . Halloween ends will have really low numbers compared to other horror movies . Patient Zero Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 Watched this yesterday with my ex and one of my f4ghags. The girl was absolutely terrified by the movie. Two jumpscares made her scream out loud... I thought it was very well made done. The acting was terriffic and the movie has a very heavy atmosphere. The background music in some scenes is truly good and maybe original? I just wish the second part was more like the first part... The first part makes this all seem like everyone with ptsd is just imaging this because of their trauma. But the second half reveals there's a demon doing this I also like how this movie kinda shows how people with mental health problems can feel isolated and missunderstood.
shark_heather Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Just watched it Great horror paranormal movie Creepy and quite disturbing Cinematography was amazing Acting was very good The 1st scene , The bday party scene and the Therapist visiting her scene were the highlights
Tylerbv Posted October 19, 2022 Posted October 19, 2022 I enjoyed this and thought it was well acted, but I'm blown away by the box office numbers. I thought this would be doing like 20-30% less than Scream did
Sweetestsecret Posted October 23, 2022 Author Posted October 23, 2022 https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt15474916/?ref_=bo_se_r_1 $170M on box office. The most successful horror movie of the year on box office

DelRey Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 I thought it will be scarier tbh, the story it feels kinda the same as It follows and The Ring for me. But it has nice cinematography and the acting was really good, I just was expecting more.

Life Savers Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Saw it today and it was alright. I was expecting it to be scary and it was more of a thriller. The lead acted the house down, though.
Hurem Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 This is gonna have a $200M gross on a $17M budget Shocked they haven't announced the sequel already. Also, a kii that they originally wanted this to be a streaming release only Thank god for test screenings.
Sweetestsecret Posted October 30, 2022 Author Posted October 30, 2022 $186M on box office.. it's a smash! It's coming for $200M soon. https://www.the-numbers.com/movie/Smile-(2022)#tab=summary
fridayteenage Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 $200 mil horror non-remakes/sequels/spinoffs this century, per the-numbers: Quiet Place $335 Conjuring $318 Get Out $252 The Others $208
Smarticle Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Definitely felt like a modern version of The Ring, but was still scary nonetheless .

superchaz Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 It felt a bit bloated for me and could have done with a few edits to make it the pace a bit faster. Although the jump scares were good the way they were smiling was as if this was a sequel to truth or dare. Would have been iconic if they had a Lucy hale cameo in it
ccfan007 Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Will this be released on any of the streaming platforms?
Sweetestsecret Posted November 6, 2022 Author Posted November 6, 2022 Amazing achievement. Smile surpassed $200M on box office https://www.the-numbers.com/movie/Smile-(2022)#tab=summary

Miles. Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 I liked this, but it was a little underwhelming after all the hype. The end was exactly what you'd expect, which was disappointing. I think it would have been much more interesting + powerful if: Rose killed herself while no one was watching, thus "ending" the current cycle...... and then for the final scene it's revealed that Jackson (Holly's kid) now has the curse, since Rose had already passed the curse to him by traumatizing him at his birthday party. There was even the scene of Holly telling Rose "You've traumatized Jackson" after that. I totally thought that's what they were setting up. And then they also should have tied her mother's death to the curse as well, thus showing how trauma passes from generation to generation despite people's best efforts to break the cycle.
