Half the looks on Fashion Nova look like Madison Beer. This anecdotal evidence doesn't hold up. People who follow clothing trends closely are hyperaware of things the GP have no awareness of.

 

I'm not a stan of either artist but the snake is more universally recognized & referenced than Xtina's look. Nothing about the Dirty outfit would shock people these days. Using an animal as a prop is still gagworthy & done less commonly now than when Brit did it so it'll forever be associated with her. Nobody would dare pull that stunt now

We're talking about looks that the GP recognizes, not what fashion snobs follow  Fashion Nova promoted a post for Halloween costumes they're selling, one of which was Xtina's Dirrty outfit. Who in the GP knows who Madison Beer is, and who would make that connection?  the math isn't mathing

The Dirrty outfit definitely had more of an impact on pop culture. Every time a celeb is noticed with assless chaps, Xtina is referenced. There’s no denying that.

 

The snake was just a performance, yes people remember it but it’s not as iconic as Xtina’s outfit… not just the outfit but hair as well.

 

When it comes to “animals”… Bjorks swan dress is more iconic than the snake on the shoulders.

To me the Chaps/Lady Marmalade are the same in terms of memorability as the snake outfit...actually maybe even more iconic. Then Britney's schoolgirl look above them all.

 

The only popgirl who came close to matching Britney's iconic imagery was Gaga. Even then its insane how effortless Britney's iconic looks are while Gaga's are much more tryhard. It really blows my mind how easy it was for Britney.
