I don't know if it was already said before (too lazy to read all of the posts) but what i would do:

 

Implement a discussion board just like they had on IMDB many years ago. It was interesting to discuss/read views/interpretations/theories people had about movies, the plots, certain scenes and symbolism. I really miss that. Yes, it would be hard to implement it on the TV apps but maybe launch an extra website for it and integrate it into the mobile/laptop apps.

 

I know that this won't rescue Netflix but it is a nice addition and i'm sure many people would appreciate it.

This site is a nice replacement for the IMDB boards and somewhat active as well.

stop releasing in batches or at least start giving the authors the free right to release weekly/bi-weekly/however they want

and let people use it for free but with restrictions like ads etc
