Considering Universal/Nintendo have already hinted at making more movies together, I don’t know why they chose to cram so much into the first one. They didn’t leave many options for a sequel. There’s so much they can do, they can do a Luigi’s mansion spin off, explore yoshi world in the sequel, have a wario/waluigi third film about their rivalry, there’s plenty of stories to tell and the fans will FLOCK to the cinema
Sapphire Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 we need Yoshi, Super Smash Bros Brawl kinda movie, and Super Mario Galaxy movie next yaass
Ricanaire Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 I wish we saw more of Yoshi's Island. It looked so cute!

Gwendolyn Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 (edited) A CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE! 7/10 - Plot could do a lot of work and hopefully in the sequel they go all out; the references, Chris Pratt NOT being annoying, the use of the Super Mario Bros Super Show Rap and DK Rap, Charlie Day and Jack Black's voice acting SLAYING, Anya slaying as Peach, PEACHES! It was a great movie and I enjoyed it Hoping Daisy's in the sequel, she's so underused by Nintendo Edited April 10, 2023 by Gwendolyn
Dark Phoenix Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 The way I could see already a spin off for Luigi, DK, Toad, Peach; just wow it was about damn time.
Robert Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 The film was mid but Jack Black ate On 4/9/2023 at 12:58 PM, Eternium said: The movie was great. The only issues were the dialogue and some of the pacing but other than that, it was excellent. And why wouldn’t we want another film? There are still so many untapped characters and Nintendo has so many franchises that could make excellent films (Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Fire Emblem, etc.) and then they could culminate in a Smash Bros. film. What you’re doing is called “projecting,” sis. A Nintendo cinematic universe would be amazing if done right. I wonder how Pokemon would fit in though.
Shawn Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Now that Jack Black's random "Pedro Pascal for Wario" campaign has gone viral & even reported on by the trades - it'll be awkward if it's someone else.
Rence Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Super Mario Sunshine (2025) featuring Daisy and Yoshi Super Mario Galaxy (2027) featuring Rosalina and Luma Super Mario Odyssey (2029) featuring Pauline and Cappy come on Nintendo

Boysdontcry Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 I’m so glad they finally did a Mario film (yes I know there was technically one from like 1990 or whenever). I just really can’t believe Nintendo never tried to profit off of their franchises in this way until now ??? I think the Pokémon tv show is the only thing they’ve really pushed. And that had movies which got theatrical releases in Japan. I’m not sure about the US, but in the UK they were not released in cinemas. There’s so much more that can be done. I think Pokémon needs a proper theatrical movie too (I don’t count Detective Pikachu, that did not feel like Pokémon).
Boysdontcry Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 Anyway, I loved this film. Yes the pace was a bit too quick. And it lacked some character development. But overall it was enjoyable and I’d probably watch it again.
Broken Posted April 10, 2023 Author Posted April 10, 2023 Mexico . Box office is back in full force, even small/indie movies are smashing HARD here, The Whale grossed like $10M .
Hector Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 The way the performance would be a hoot if it got nominated.
