sugarysunflower Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 None. …as long as you have daddy/mommy/alumni connections and donations at the ready. World’s your oyster.
Trent W Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 (edited) I think that if you are rich enough you can re-construct your entire face and be pretty acceptable to sell anything The prime example of this is Kylie Jenner. She’s basically changed her whole facial features and body. Even now she’s not that beautiful but pretty enough to sell her brands Edited September 30, 2022 by Trent W
youreyesgocold Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Good luck trying to be a social media influencer without pretty privilege. Also this is going to sound so dumb but I feel like people trust Police, Doctors and Lawyers more when they are attractive and well put together
BOOMBAYAH Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 The obvious ones that require you to be attractive. But being attractive helps you land any job, I read this study where they conducted a experiment with job applications; they attached the photos of the ugly and attractive job candidates and sent them off (with the same level of experience, academia, etc.) and the attractive participant got the most call backs.
Auraeolux Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 (edited) newscasters unless they have had a long and storied career (but not necessarily meteorologists) Edited October 1, 2022 by Auraeolux
Cyanide Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 I always thought music was one of those careers but looking at the beauty standards between the Korean music industry and the US makes the latter seem a lot more lax regarding looks
wantedyoutogrow Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 the entertainment industry, but tbh you can still be ugly and a successful actor, idk about a singer
Sesame Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Any job that’s people facing at expensive companies
zasderfght Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 (edited) You can't make a thread titled "Careers you're doomed in if you're ugly" while in the same breath say "be respectful." I'd imagine any job where you're in the public eye (e.g. acting, singing, and modeling, to name a few), any job that's focused on looks (e.g. modeling or sex work), or a job in fitness would be selective about physical appearance and/or physique. MusicBiz234 Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 If you're rich enough, nothing (look at the kardashian clan) if you're poor, social media influencers have to be good to look at tbh
CottageHore Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Music/show business… unless you’re a straight man, of course
