Klein Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Dua, Billie and Doja really are the new generation of MPG. Excited to see if Olivia will join them.
Rei Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Wow Billie’s and Olivia’s album sales are so high. Dua’s are abysmal. K bye for now, Sunshine. <3
Cryptique Posted September 29, 2022 Author Posted September 29, 2022 i think we can all agree that Billie, Harry and Olivia are the last Pure Album Sellers
Rev8 Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Hot Pink less than a mili away from Cardi's debut?! Billie's EP bigger than Sour?! just a bit disappointed from Harry's and Hot Pink's numbers but Harry has constantly gotten +1M album sales and HH is just starting (5m by the end of the year?) 1 hour ago, Cryptique said: If we include Post Malone Stoney(2016): 10.33M CSPC (485k Sales) Beerbongs & Bentleys(2018): 13.59M CSPC (789k Sales) Hollywood's Bleeding(2019): 13.33M CSPC (705k Sales) Whew kind of sad he only has 1 good album shocking all of his eras are +10m too Heteros power
pride4jc1222 Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 I don't know what your definition of New Gen is, but Cardi and Harry are definitely not part of it. Cardi is about to turn 30 and Harry is 28. Even Dua and Doja are 26/27, and not really a part of New Gen. The only ones here that are New Gen are Billie, Olivia, and LNX.
UnusualBoy Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Dua's debut 14 million? , streaming really inflates numbers.

I obviously meant the current batch of popstars
MALAMENTE Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Billie definitely has the best and most impressive stats
bad guy Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Billie's little EP bigger than the album ATRLers said is supposedly bigger than WWAFA?

They mean by debut year I believe. New Gen would mean they debuted during a different wave of pop music. But tea at how the best pop artists are still millennials tbh. Isaiah Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 I love Dua but her stats are soooo ingenuine considering she tacks all her smash droplets and collabs onto her albums wayyy after the fact Billie remains the most impressive current-gen star imo

More Than A Melody Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 These numbers with no context are next to useless. Harry and Olivia have done zero collaborations, their numbers are truly 100% their own, and that should count for something. I also don't trust these numbers completely because HDD said Fine Line had sold 10M+ worldwide before As It Was came out, which is a month and a half before the update we see here. I'd rather go by certifications (WW), which is an official measure and the fairest, if we're being serious... SINGLES Billie Eilish 74,556,666 solo (with features and collabs 80,866,666) Harry Styles 56,650,999 (with features and collabs 56,650,999) Dua Lipa - 40,998,666 solo (with features and collabs 82,360,731) Olivia Rodrigo - 32,806,000 (32,806,000 with features and collabs) Doja Cat - 29,606,666 solo (49,481,666 with features and collabs) Cardi B - 23,021,666 solo (111,563,331 with features and collabs) Lil Nas X - 21,943,333 solo (55,909,999 with features and collabs) ALBUMS (all units) Billie Eilish - 9,027,500 Harry Styles - 8,592,000 Dua Lipa - 5,474,347 Olivia Rodrigo - 4,165,000 Lil Nas X - 4,161,500 Cardi B - 3,375,000 Doja Cat - 3,180,000 Billie takes the lead on both fronts, though I think Harry will overtake it this era. He's extremely close with albums and while singles will take longer, As It Was is being certified left and right already, Late Night Talking is becoming a mid range hit, and Sushi is coming, meanwhile the bulk of Billie's units are from 2017-2019. Dua sits comfortable in the third spot on both fronts, and you can clearly see that her features are the ones bulking up her totals, Olivia is not far behind with a very clean discography. Lil Nas did better in terms of albums but his solo singles didn't fare that well (Panini and Montero are the only solo singles that performed well of his). Cardi relies heavily on features and collabs, her absolute biggest hit solo is Bodak Yellow and even then, it's not that big worldwide, while it's Diamond in America, Bad Guy overtakes in total units and Watermelon Sugar isn't far behind (speaking of solo songs only - overall Old Town Road is significantly above it). Doja's biggest song is Say So, but a lot of her units come from Kiss Me More and the rest of her songs aren't that big worldwide. Selling power is better exposed with numbers like these, and I think this crowns Billie, Harry, and Olivia, as the trio that actually sells the most, which isn't strange considering they're the ones with actual fanbases. *I counted Say So and Bad Guy as solo songs because the versions that sold the most were solo
Protocol Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 8 hours ago, UnusualBoy said: Dua's debut 14 million? , streaming really inflates numbers. That's because they added all her collabs from the first few years of her career to it, including "One Kiss" If Billie had added "Everything I Wanted", the James Bond song, and the Rosalia duet to Happier Than Ever then it would be at around 8M units, and there is a much better argument that those songs especially EIW are part of her 'sophomore era'
unclefloprry Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Dua, Doja, Billie and Harry and some "One Era Wonders," like Meghan Trainor the past generation Miss @Cryptique do you have Camila and Halsey's stats? since they are part of this generation

But these genres also tend to do better single sales and worst album sales so tbh it’s impossible to make it completely fair. Ot: fascinated to see how Olivia does, she needs to hurry and drop already
