The Boston Bruins have a good chance to be the first team to punch a ticket to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, provided it defeats the Detroit in regulation AND either of the following occurs:

(1) The New York Islanders lose to the Washington Capitals in any fashion

(2) The Ottawa Senators lose to the Vancouver Canucks in regulation

They defeat the Red Wings in overtime or shootout AND either of the following occurs:

(1) The Islanders lose to the Capitals in regulation

(2) The Senators lose to the Canucks in regulation

The Toronto Maple Leafs end their bad streak of being eliminated in the first round (often by blowing series leads), as they beat Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2 in the series. The Leafs won 2-1 in OT to make it happen.

The Panthers have eliminated the record-breaking Bruins in OT 4-3 in 7 games. This is an all-time chokejob in Boston, as the Bruins blew a 3-1 series lead and a 3-2 lead in the last minute of regulation of game 7.

Ugh Miami now has upset to number one seeds as an 8 seed in two sports both teams being da best in their respective league (although this one is huge, we was only one of a handful of teams who even beat Boston twice in a season and we jus beat dem 4 times including three in a row)

The Chicago Blackhawks won the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery, so they will be picking in the #1 spot. This means that Connor Bedard will likely be taken there.

Speaking of NHL Drafts, don't forget the Devils got Nico Hischier (over Nolan Patrick) with the #1 pick in 2017, Jack Hughes with the #1 pick in 2019, and his brother Luke with the #4 pick in 2021. The Devils are going to be contenders for a long time.

The Florida Panthers swept the Carolina Panthers to be the Eastern Conference representative in the Stanley Cup Final. We are still awaiting the Western Conference winner, as the Vegas Golden Nights are leading 3-1 in the series over Dallas Stars.

The Stanley Cup Finals matchup is set: Vegas will represent the Western Conference in the Stanley Cup Finals, as they beat the Stars in 6. They will face the Florida Panthers.

Both franchises have previously been to the Stanley Cup Finals; however, neither team has won it all. Whoever wins it will get their first Lord Stanley trophy. Go VGK!
