TheArgonaut Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Lover has sold 4.197.000 units in the US so far. This is Taylor's record breaking 7th album to reach this milestone. It is expected to end the year with 4.4M units. Should it continue selling like it is selling, it will surpass 5M units by the end of next year. Early 2024 the latest. wastedpotential Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 I was told it was a flop album though?
Headlock Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 This album above all others is enough evidence to throw the “stan fueled” argument for Taylor out the window, as this is easily her least liked album by stans and yet the GP seems to be obsessed with it against all odds
Hot Volcano Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 This album has amazing album tracks, the singles choices have been the worst choices this entire century so far

And she seemed so confident of her decision in that documentary.
Pleeny Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Would've sold twice as much if she wasn't having a stroke when picking the singles
UnusualBoy Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Amazing considering the bad single choices, it's like she wanted to sabotage the era.
despy Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 i still can't believe this is serving the success/longevity that it's been serving since its release i thought this would be a tank in her standards a smash era despite mid single choices. 2 minutes ago, UnusualBoy said: Amazing considering the bad single choices, it's like she wanted to sabotage the era. exactly

I haven’t seen an updated list in a while and those Twitter lists are extremely inflated

Of course this is only billboard units and pre-release units are not included here. Reputa is def 5x platinum by now and 1989 has to be 11x platinum or at least close.
wastedpotential Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 I'd love if someone a bit more obsessed and deranged than I am went back and figured out the billboard units of every album in her career to this point
Protocol Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 It's pretty incredible that despite some pretty radical changes in image and sound across the three eras, she maintained her audience intact through Reputation, Lover and Folklore, all of which will end up in the 4-5M range or higher.
KeshaSwift Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Incredible. Well deserved! Her best pop album
Mr. Duff Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Amazing, will likely outsell Reputation in the long run which it rightfully deserves. Self-written Lover, Cornelia Street and Daylight did that I wish Evermore could have the longevity of Lover though. Her best album deserved so much more.
