Lover has sold 4.197.000 units in the US so far. This is Taylor's record breaking 7th album to reach this milestone. It is expected to end the year with 4.4M units. Should it continue selling like it is selling, it will surpass 5M units by the end of next year. Early 2024 the latest.

Wow. What are Folklore and Evermore at?

Posted

I was told it was a flop album though?

This album above all others is enough evidence to throw the “stan fueled” argument for Taylor out the window, as this is easily her least liked album by stans and yet the GP seems to be obsessed with it against all odds :dies:

This album has amazing album tracks, the singles choices have been the worst choices this entire century so far :rip:

Folklore is doing incredibly amazing.

2,204,000 + 942,000 + 503,000 (so far) = 3,649,000 units

Folklore - 3.65 million units (so far)

How did she choose ME! over Cruel summer? And she seemed so confident of her decision in that documentary.

Would've sold twice as much if she wasn't having a stroke when picking the singles

SMASH era :jonny4:

Amazing considering the bad single choices, it's like she wanted to sabotage the era.

i still can't believe this is serving the success/longevity that it's been serving since its release :dies: i thought this would be a tank in her standards :skull: a smash era despite mid single choices.

What about her other albums? I haven’t seen an updated list in a while and those Twitter lists are extremely inflated :deadvision:

1989 was reported to be at 10.14m in april 2021 and Reputa is at 4.4M. Of course this is only billboard units and pre-release units are not included here. Reputa is def 5x platinum by now and 1989 has to be 11x platinum or at least close.

I'd love if someone a bit more obsessed and deranged than I am went back and figured out the billboard units of every album in her career to this point :gaycat6:

It's pretty incredible that despite some pretty radical changes in image and sound across the three eras, she maintained her audience intact through Reputation, Lover and Folklore, all of which will end up in the 4-5M range or higher.

Incredible. Well deserved! Her best pop album

Amazing, will likely outsell Reputation in the long run which it rightfully deserves.

Self-written Lover, Cornelia Street and Daylight did that :alexz:

I wish Evermore could have the longevity of Lover though. Her best album deserved so much more. :johnald:

im still of the opinion that folklore and evermore should be tacked to one another tbh, theyre both too sonically and commercially alike that it feels weird and inaccurate to make evermore a separate project since it looks like a flop in comparison to her other albums when if anything, its a side b to folklore.

It puzzled me why her Stan’s hate this album, but praise that overrated puta album, Lover is ten times better in both lyrics & execution tbh

That's really impressed imo

*gif of two trash cans rolling down a street*

I like both albums very much, but they to me are more vehicles for some top tier songs, as well as some of my least favorite songs of her career, as opposed to bodies of work I want to consume as a whole each time.
