Between Fiona Apple and Björk, who had the better first five album run? Both artists are known for their acclaimed output and masterpiece records, some of which have been regarded as some of the best albums of all-time by Rolling Stone and Pitchfork.

 

Fiona only released a total of 5 albums throughout her career, which spans throughout 4 decades, and Bjork is about to release her 10th album Fossora out this Friday.

This is tough because I'm a fan of both, but I'm more comfortable with Björk's material. I fear I'm overdue for a Fiona catalog dive.

My god even Björk's album covers are superior, lining up her artwork like that really proves how ahead of the game she's always been.

This comes down to a matter of personal taste, they're like the two most acclaimed alt queens out there  But it's Fiona for me.

This is so hard but I have to give it to Björk. When The Pawn, Idler Wheel and Fetch the Bolt Cutters are among my all time faves and beautiful lyrically but Post, Homogenic and Vespertine have this grasp on me sonically which is what I tend to go back to more for repeat listens. They’re both untouchable though

Bjork and it is due to Medulla and the sheer creativity behind that album. The other albums especially Vespertine, Bjork's best of the first five albums are better than at least three of Fiona's 1st5.
