How to minimize undereye wrinkles?

Recommended Posts

Posted

So I'm not even mid twenties just yet but I already have a few undereye wrinkles. Nothing too visible but it does bother me. I have them I think from not sleeping enough, drinking too much coffee, working all day in front of a screen and because i tend to squint out of habit for some reason.

Are there any treatments other than botox? Like I'm not at a point where I need botox and I heard botox in such a sensitive place like under eyes is NOT a good idea. I heard retinol is good but it is the softer version of retinoid which needs a prescription. However, I am skeptical about all topical products tbh. It feels like it prob would not work at all.

Any advice girlies?

Do we have suggestions for dark eyebags too besties x

Lots of people have these naturally. They can appear at any age, even as young as childhood. They're nothing to worry about, and many people even find them attractive.

That said, I know you're skeptical of topical products but a good under eye cream with caffeine really does work wonders if you apply it consistently. Be sure to lightly dab the product on, because rubbing it in with too much force can make wrinkles worse. While we're on the subject try not to touch your face in general. The skin beneath your eyes is incredibly thin and alot of people give themselves premature wrinkles by rubbing at it.

Diet is also a factor. Make sure you're well hydrated and watch out for things like your sodium intake. If you're retaining any excess water one of the first places it'll show is your eyes. Do you have any dark circles? If so, then certain food allergies can also mess with your under eye area. For example as a teen I found out that if I avoided chocolate, dairy and soy my dark circles would go away but I tend to ignore it most days because I'm not trying to do all that

I known people that swear by cucumber slices. Also, washing your face twice a day with ice water.

Put on some weight, chubbies have less wrinkles.

This thread and your thread about not having a soulmate.......you sound extremely insecure about aging. I would suggest seeing a therapist. Most people have under eye wrinkles

Go to Amazon or your favorite supermarket and look for any eye cream that says it works for wrinkles under the eyes. Most of them work, use them twice a day (follow the product instructions); be patient, don't despair, the under eye area is very delicate, results are not immediate. And of course, try to sleep better and minimize your exposure to the sun and screens.

It's obvious but overlooked, under-eye cream. I use it twice a day, morning and night, a little blob on my ring finger, rubbed with the other ring fingers and gently dotted all around the under, side and eyelid area. I've been using it for a good probably 5 years and I just hit 30, and am always getting complimented on my skin and lack of eye wrinkles.

Everyone wants to believe there are skincare secrets but there's really not - there's regular, consistent skincare (doesn't need to be fancy) and a healthy lifestyle with lots of water. And sunscreen used every day obviously That's it!

The suggestions :rip:

You should get an eye cream with retinol or just use a retinol serum all over your face

Neutrogena, Roc, Inkey list all have retinol eye creams, try them out :gaycat2:

Sleep 8 hours, drink enough water, moisturize  AM and PM, use eye cream with SPF, use eye serums with caffeine, Hyaluronic and vitamins , use sun glasses.

Absolutely not, food is to eat no to put on skin. That’s why there’s zillions of dermatological products specially formulated for SKIN.

Tretinoin (a retinoid) is acne preventing, skin resurfacing and also has anti aging and scar healing benefits. I'd definitely look into that. You will also need an eye cream for day time though because Tretinoin may dry the skin, especially under eye skin because it is more delicate.

Botox helps too, an ideal time to start is around 25 but realistically you don't do that unless you're well researched on it.

Best drug store brands for your skin: CeraVe, Cetaphil and La Roche Posay. Don't go for anything else if your skin is sensitive

You have to be joking or just uneducated, where do you think the majority of skincare comes from?
Fruits, vegetables, plants etc

OT: Again Olive oil and you could use Aloe Vera gel.

I’m a certified dermatologist, the fact that a lot of products contains natural ingredients doesn’t mean that you can smear whatever you see in your fridge. As I said, that’s why there’s lots of products formulated for skin , plus we don’t even know what skin type he/she has.

And that’s why listed multiple options of what I recommend.

But never discredit herbs and oils, they are literally magic for health and beauty.
