TOP 20: A GLOBAL SHOWDOWN (UPDATE)

Fan-initiated sales and streaming parties, along with digitally signed D2C packages, are fueling an increase in our projection for YG/Interscope's BLACKPINK. The increased activity now puts our overall first-week estimate at 88k—within striking distance of #1. Can the K-Pop sensations overtake Rimas' Bad Bunny? Stay tuned for updates throughout the week.

Bunny, who was just nominated for 10 Latin Grammys, is fighting for his 12th nonconsecutive week at #1 with Un Verano Sin Ti. In addition to BLACKPINK, K-pop stans have another big release to cheer on this week, as SM/Virgin has NCT 127’s 2 Baddies–The Fourth Album opening at #3.

Interscope also scores the only other debut in the Top 10, EST Gee’s I Never Felt Nun (CMG/Warlike), as Columbia’s Koe Wetzel opens in the Top 15 with Hell Paso (YellaBush).

Now if you'll excuse us, we're headed for the Kogi truck and a heaping order of kimchi carnitas fries.

TOP 20: BUNNY’S LOCKED IN

Rimas Bad Bunny, who was just nominated for 10 Latin Grammys, looks headed for a 12th nonconsecutive week at #1 with Un Verano Sin Ti. Meanwhile, K-pop locks up #2 and 3 as YG/Interscope’s BLACKPINK lands in the runner-up spot with BORN PINK and SM/Virgin has NCT 127’s 2 Baddies–The Fourth Album opening at #3.

Interscope also scores the only other debut in the Top 10, EST Gee’s I Never Felt Nun (CMG/Warlike), as Columbia’s Koe Wetzel opens in the Top 15 with Hell Paso (YellaBush).

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re late to our salsa-dancing lesson.

Let's hope they will sell more than 94k cuz otherwise it will get messy :clap3:

A #1 album is a great feat especially for a Korean girl group

Is it? When they’ve pulled Yummy/ME! Level desperation to get there :deadbanana2:

Well, it won’t be an organic #1 like Bad Bunny would have since bp stans are using fraudulent tactics even setting up PayPal funds to mass buy copies…

bad bunny is #1 based on gp demand.

Always talking about Twice 94k pure sales but not mentionning they had multiples digital albums since the start of the release week (BP was only posted on their website on monday) had many exclusive versions with photocards (3 target/3 barnesandnoble), limited signed albums like BP. Oh and ofc not mentionning YG scamming Blinks with a 50$ albums, plus expensive concert tickets on Born Pink release day and digipacks(20$, the price of most kpop albums) not available physically at Target etc...And not mentionning BP is the only kpop act with BTS to get some streams from their albums.

Twice also had a countdown on their website but you're using this just to bash Blackpink.

I don't have anything against Twice, just you're shady with the 94k pure sales.

If Blackpink get the #1 I will be happy for them, if they don't it will only be YG fault for being too greedy. If the album had been 25-30$ they would have sell more.

Edit : Twice has 4 versions not 3*

It would have been a greater feat if they didn't go #1 with lower numbers than Twice at #3 :toofunny3: It's also yg's fault for making the album pricy in us stores

Both used cheap tactics with the same amount of versions (18) but it just shows twice has more of a dedicated fandom cause only 4 versions helped in making those numbers happen, the rest helped in overall sales

Blackpink’s were initially three times more expensive than Twice tho.
