No one wants to wake up to the news I woke up to this morning. No one. I was preparing my coffee, turning on wi-fi and the first thing I read is: “YG/Interscope’s BLACKPINK is tracking to the biggest debut of the week at 80-85k in total activity”. I blinked my eyes countless times and I went on Facebook just to see more and more posts about it. I couldn’t believe it. My BLACKPINK dream was over and there I was at 8AM sitting in my kitchen looking at the screen of my iPhone.

Anyway, US is not their primary market so it doesn't matter that much

it is if they're doing a Friday release :gaycat:

Holy **** :deadbanana:

That’s just not good given how the other girl groups (most notably Twice) opened recently. I’m… shocked. But I still really hope they can get the no1 :jonny2:

Not a huge fan of the album outside of Yx3, THG and HTL but idc. I still want them to get it. Gap is small anyway so it’s possible.

These are the first #s so I'm sure they'll go up. They should hit #1 though with a push...

Go NCT 127 :jonnycat:

I don’t know much about K-Pop but I thought they were the biggest girl group, guess not if this Twice group outsold.

Wait if they really are pulling 3M Units in the first week for Born Pink globally and the US is only accounting for around 100K that's barely like 3% from the world's biggest music market... they are way too global to the point that it might hurt them :rip:

Twice had the same initial projections 80-85k btw.

YG and them doubling the price of the album in US shops :toofunny3: idiotic

Ok, but you better include yourself and purchase their album. It isn't possible TWICE is going to outdo our girls.

Twice deserves it - they've worked their ass off since debut and have organically grown a global fanbase not by hiatus hype but releasing banger after banger.

This is what BP deserves to fizzel out on. At least they have a lot of free streams on spotify and can go back to instagram where they feel more comfortable.  :coffee2:

Where is this 3 million coming from?

Considering only 1.1 million is sold right now, and apparently only around 100k in the US that's a lot of dead stock collecting dust if they do ship 3 million.

Omg you're disrespecting THE revolution also known as BLACKPINK, of course TWICE has worked their ass off, but so BLACKPINK has. They're super talented and beautiful, they deserve nothing but success. I just don't see TWICE having currently a bigger fanbase.
