BLACKPINK Lisa's 'MONEY' certified platinum in the US... second 'new history' after Psy

BLACKPINK's Lisa's solo single 'MONEY' was officially recognized for selling more than 1 million units in the United States. As a result, Lisa became the first female K-pop solo artist to be certified as 'Platinum' by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Currently, Psy is the only other K-pop solo artist to receive RIAA certification in Korea, and Lisa has become the second K-pop solo artist after Psy to receive RIAA certification.

Lisa released her first solo mini album 'LALISA' worldwide on September 10, 2021. Immediately after release, the title song 'LALISA' of the same name not only ranked 84th on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but also took the top spot on the iTunes Top Song Chart in 72 countries and the global YouTube Song Top 100 chart. Since then, 'MONEY' has climbed to the top of iTunes Top Song Charts in 38 countries, and recently climbed to 5th place on the Spotify global chart. During the same period, she entered the UK Official Chart Top 100 at No. 81, and then jumped 35 steps to No. 46 on October 29 , becoming the first female K-pop solo artist to chart-in for 4 weeks.

The exclusive performance video of 'MONEY' also broke 200 million views on YouTube in 38 days, breaking the new record for the shortest choreography video of a K-pop artist.

That is probably one of my favorite music videos in recent years, and it's not even an official music video. She just did that.
