Exactly. She was the pioneer of the new era of female rap. Pioneers always get spit on. She literally walked so the other girls could run. In the truest sense of this expression.

Like others have said, her age is inconsequential on paper. It's highly relevant, though, when she behaves like a drug-addled 18-year-old. 

 

Let's do away with the idea that she's this helpless victim under attack. It literally is not Cardi, Megan, Latto, Kim, Coi, Remy, Iggy, Garcelle, etc's fault all at once and somehow not hers. The Barbz need to be objective. 

 

Had she started these beefs at her peak, one could try (and still fail) to argue that it was a case of coming for the top dog.

 

She's technically more iconic than the newbies because of the time she's put in, but on an active, current day, future-leaning tip, Cardi has her her beat. Megan is in a very solid second spot. 

 

Nicki is struggling to acclimate watching the new girls come in and grab things she hasn't had (or had to wait years for) despite opening the doors for them. #1s, Grammys, etc. She also used to be "the" go to for a female rap verse, now it's almost certain that the other girls are the top pick. From commercially, to age, and 

cultural clout. Inadvertently, it's affecting her bag and it's stinging her. At the worst time too. She'll be conscious of her age and the industry obsession with youth, her choice of husband has her reputation shot too. It's sad. 

 

She's supposed to be a music royal and move like one. Instead, she's moving like a court jester and generating embarrassing headlines that will live on forever. She's also creating a clear line of distance between herself and the people who "should" be her peers (Beyonce, Rihanna, Jay)...who will definitely keep distance. 

 

Beyond first week numbers (which won't even be great), her fans are in for the rudest awakening when her album drops. At best, she's looking at Queen #s and overall performance. At worst, a total tanking. Her behavior assures she's capped at where she is...sad because there was more potential success-wise.

Having an opinion that differs from the Barbz is not a "hate narrative" nor "hate train".

 

I'm actually DISAPPOINTED in Nicki because I actively wanted her to win (as well as all of the girls). She is systematically screwing up her own legacy and is being enabled by fans that are so bizarrely embedded in her a** that they don't see the damage she's doing to the brand SHE worked so hard to establish. 

 

I never bought her "support" of the other girls. And I say this as a casual fan of hers. It always comes across disingenuous and 9 times out of 10 ends up in drama. Again, statistically, it's impossible for these situations to be everyone else's fault and not Nicki's. Statistically, what are the chances of her constantly beefing the bigger artists but magically being able to be in good stead with the lesser/unknowns who kiss her feet? Wake tf up. 

 

Lastly, please don't do revisionist history. Her albums have been underperforming from her sophomore era onwards. Queen, objectively, flopped. 

 

Take off your stan goggles (for a sec). She has a lengthy lead on the Cardi's, Megan's etc because of the decade she had before their arrival. But in the PRESENT DAY, as cemented as Nicki is, she is not perceived to be as cool, exciting, or as much of a go-to as her younger counterparts. Some of this is beyond her control, but she's also making it worse with her antics.

In “PRESENT DAY” Super Freaky Girl is actually one of the biggest TikTok trends of the year and Traumazine and Hot Sht were the actual underperformances? Nicki is actually the top female rapper of 2022 with Doja at #2 despite releasing two actual singles and a handful of buzz singles with upcoming acts. Also percerived ass “cool”? Like come on what is this argument  

 

And sophomore era onwards she underperformed? Most of her biggest hits are actually from 2014 onwards. Bang Bang, Anaconda, Tusa, FEFE etc. But thats debateable ofc. Just because Queen wasnt as big doesnt mean it flopped either. It flopped in her standards maybe but - Its a platinum album that had a top 10 hit and spended well over a year on the charts. Some pop girls would die for those stats 10 years in.
