These midterm elections are really up in the air :toofunny3: will we see the expected red wave because of the economy and Biden’s lackluster presidency? Or are we actually going to see a blue wave bc of reproductive rights? :coffee2:

I am starting to wonder if more moderates have FINALLY been turned off by how delusional the cult of Trumpists and extreme republicans have gotten because of abortion, defending Trump’s inexcusable actions, hateful LGBT rhetoric, etc. and have decided to vote blue instead. Maybe the republicans finally did themselves in. Don’t wanna speak too soon but it’s interesting.

The democrats are still a mess and need to get their act together, and Biden is a bad presiden,  but it’s interesting to watch.

Looks like there were nearly 11,000 voters that didn’t have a second preference, and Palin lost by a little over 5,000. So there were a bunch of Republicans who voted for Begich that decided not to vote for Palin.

Progressives already hate her, I'm sure

"She ran a relentlessly upbeat campaign that implicitly contrasted her reputation for kindness with the bombast and penchant for drama associated with Ms. Palin, even though the two women have been friends since serving together in the Statehouse as expectant mothers. They even exchanged text messages on the day of the general election for the temporary seat, with Ms. Palin advising Ms. Peltola to dress warmly for her final round of canvassing."

Why are you creating drama when there is none? :ahh:

Yeah, sure she's a lib that's friendly with the Queen Mother of the modern Alt-Right. Who cares? The seat has been Republican for over 50 years, so nobody was expecting a Jill Stein/Ralph Nader candidate to win. Get a hold of yourself. :ahh:

Your constant flamebaiting to progressives is borderline trolling at this point.

Where are people expecting a red wave? It's been said since 2020 that 2022 is actually the best year for midterms for Dems possible because of what is up for grabs in terms of election balance and how gerrymandering unfolded.

The likely scenario is Dems hold the Senate as is (maybe one gain, two if strong showing) and hold a slim majority in the House. A strong Republican response would be Dems losing 2 seats in the Senate and around 30-40 or so seats in the House, which feels unlikely given the generic Dem ballot polling, particularly the former.

Are you suggesting it's bad for people to dislike Sarah Palin, even when she's essentially a white supremacist abd pro-forced birth advocate? :deadbanana4:

New York was this year’s bellwether and Democrats shocked everyone by winning. All the polls were wrong.
